Luke Littler was left speechless after stunning the sporting world again at the age of 16 with a sensational performance to reach the final of the World Darts Championship, but revealed he will stick to his traditional pre-match routine.

The teenager dominated the back pages last week during his fairytale run to the final, beating the likes of Raymond van Barneveld, Brendan Dolan and Rob Cross along the way.

On Tuesday night he faced his toughest challenge yet in his tournament debut, but breezed past 2018 champions Cross after losing the first set and then closing out the last three with a 6-2 win. He faces Luke Humphries in the showpiece on Wednesday.

After his seismic victory, he was understandably stunned and seemingly at a loss for words, shrugging his shoulders and shaking his head when asked for his thoughts on the encounter.

'No words!' He said before adding: 'Crazy to think I'm in a World Cup final on my debut. I was happy to win one match, but I could go all out!

'I just landed on the stage. It took me a few legs to get into the match and once I found that rhythm I was ready to go!'

'I'll do what I did. Go for a ham and cheese omelet in the morning, then come here for a pizza and then practice! That's what I've been doing every day.”

Littler initially made headlines after it emerged he enjoyed a kebab after every match.

The teenager has consistently defied expectations by reaching the finals and breaking records along the way.

Not only is he the youngest player to ever reach the last 16, the last eight, the last four and now the final, but his quarter-final clash with Dolan attracted the most viewers of any previous last eight clash in the history of the League. .

He had played just four PDC event matches prior to the tournament and is now in contention for the £500,000 top prize.
