Luke Littler amuses fans with sarcastic celebration after winning ONE LEG against Gerwyn Price during one-sided Australian Darts Masters final

  • Gerwyn Price defeated Luke Littler 8-1 in the final of the 2024 Australian Darts Masters
  • Littler’s only leg came after Price had won the first five in Wollongong
  • The 17-year-old reacted to winning that stage by celebrating sarcastically and exuberantly

Luke Littler was defeated by Gerwyn Price in the final of the 2024 Australian Darts Masters on Saturday.

The 17-year-old skater had a decent weekend overall, beating Rob Modra, Michael Smith and Dimitri Van den Bergh on his way to the final.

However, he was beaten 8-1 by Price, who took home the trophy and the top prize of £20,000 – double the amount Littler earned.

Littler did not play particularly badly in the final, finishing with an average of 94.24. But Price stormed into a 5-0 lead before Littler secured his only leg.

Price, known for his exuberance, is one of darts’ greatest players, but Littler did his best to match the Welshman… even if he had far less to celebrate.

Littler won the sixth leg of the final when he followed up a 180 with an unusual 44 checkout of single four, double five and double 15.

He responded to hitting the double 15 by raising his arms in triumph and roaring, then pumping his fists toward the crowd.

Price appeared to be enjoying himself and was seen laughing and smiling before his first clash with Littler.

Footage of Littler’s big celebration was posted on X (formerly Twitter) by the Professional Darts Corporation.

Littler later shared it on Instagram with the following message: ‘Delighted to have made the final on my debut at the Australian Darts Masters, the rest is history.

‘Congratulations Gezzy and thank you everyone for all the support’.

Littler has a million followers on Instagram and his post has generated hundreds of comments, with many fans commenting on his party with laughing emojis.
