Luke Cowan-Dickie’s lucrative move to Montpellier after the World Cup is in danger of collapsing as the French club is on the verge of withdrawing their contract offer to the English prostitute.

Sources have confirmed that Mail sports that, according to initial reports across the Channel, the 29-year-old has missed a medical examination due to take place in the south of France last week amid claims in the Gallic media that his no-show followed a drinking session in Montpellier.

It is clear that head coach Philippe Saint-Andre and the club hierarchy have considered a response and intend to pull out of the deal.

There is a possibility that Cowan-Dickie and his representatives could legally challenge such a move by the Top 14 champions.

However, the veteran Lion has been out since undergoing ankle surgery in January and there were fears his transfer from Exeter was in jeopardy.

Late last month, Chiefs director of rugby Rob Baxter said: ‘I don’t think anyone thinks the move is off the table.

“I think everyone thinks Luke will make a decent recovery and be ready to go.”

Meanwhile, South Africa’s 2019 World Cup captain Siya Kolisi has emerged as serious injury doubt for this year’s tournament after suffering a knee problem.

Kolisi became one of rugby’s few truly global superstars after winning the William Webb Ellis Cup and is one of his country’s most important players.

But the 31-year-old flanker’s chances of being part of South Africa’s World Cup defense are at stake.

Kolisi was knocked out of his final appearance for the Sharks against Munster on Saturday and reports in his home country suggest he has suffered significant knee damage.

If he needs surgery, Kolisi would definitely miss the World Cup this fall. Even a non-surgical recovery process would leave him to make it to the tournament in France.
