Luka Doncic has his beer confiscated by Mavericks VP as he celebrated reaching the NBA Finals with his dad

Luka Doncic was not allowed to celebrate for too long on Thursday evening that his Dallas Mavericks team reached the NBA Finals.

The Slovenian led the Mavericks past the Minnesota Timberwolves 4-1 in the Western Conference semifinals, setting up a showdown with the Boston Celtics.

But Doncic, who was relaxing with a beer in the bowels of the Target Center with his father Sasa, had his drink confiscated by Mavericks vice president Michael Finley.

Footage shows the team manager taking Doncic’s can as the 25-year-old hugs another team official.

But then Finley just walks away with it and refuses to give it back, leaving Doncic stunned.

Doncic had a good day on defense for the Timberwolves, dropping some ferocious taunts and 36 points in his team’s Game Five win.

Dallas built an insurmountable 69-40 halftime lead that no one in Minnesota had any hope of regaining.

The Mavericks reached the finals for the first time since 2011 and only the third time in team history.

Doncic was dominant all evening and he let the crowd, including rap star Snoop Dogg, know it.

TV cameras caught him shouting at someone in the audience: ‘Yeah, who’s crying, you son of a bitch’.

Kyrie Irving also scored 36 points for the Mavericks, who built a 29-point halftime lead on 61 percent shooting to deflate the once-energetic crowd before most fans were on their feet for their first snack break.

The Mavs went up by as many as 36 points in the third quarter as they held off the Timberwolves offense.

The Mavs, who were the fifth seed in the West, have a full week to rest before the NBA Finals begin June 6 in Boston. It will be the franchise’s first appearance since winning the championship in 2011.

The Celtics have had 10 days between games after beating Indiana in the Eastern Conference finals.
