Lucy Fallon receives backlash from fans after advertising app that ‘prevents pregnancy naturally’

She welcomed her first child with soccer player Ryan Ledson on January 30.

And Lucy Fallon has now revealed her new form of birth control: an app that tracks your body temperature to determine how fertile you are.

But after announcing her new method on her Instagram, fans were quick to criticize the new mom, warning her to “be careful.”

In a new paid endorsement post, the 27-year-old Coronation Street actress, best known for playing Bethany Platt on the soap between 2015 and 2020, told followers she was using the Natural Cycles app to “prevent pregnancy naturally”, while trying to forego medical interventions such as the pill or the coil.

Sharing a photo of herself holding her new baby, she wrote: “Since having Sonny, I’ve been much more aware of what I’m putting into my body and the control I have over the decisions I make.”

“Being pregnant for the first time, giving birth and caring for our amazing boy has also made me want to reconnect with myself and understand all the changes my body is going through.

‘So, as part of my postpartum journey, I started using the @naturalcycles birth control app, not only so I could prevent pregnancy naturally without having to worry, but also so I could track and learn my cycle patterns and know when my body begins to ovulate again.

“I’ve already learned a lot about my own body and I’m so grateful to have found something so easy to use that fits perfectly into my hectic new life.

“Birth control is so personal and completely different for each individual person, so to find something that has worked for me after years of being overwhelmed by it all is amazing.”

He continued: ‘A little about the NC° app: it’s the only CE-marked and FDA-approved contraceptive app and it’s hormone-free and non-invasive. It uses your body temperature and other fertility indicators to determine your fertility status for the day and allows you to track your mood and much more.

“I take my temperature in the morning with her thermometer, put it in the app, and the app tells me if it’s a green (non-fertile) or red (fertile, meaning you should abstain or use another form of protection) day.

‘It is 93% effective with typical use and 98% effective with perfect use (ie no unprotected sex on red days).

‘If you want more information or if you feel like this is something for you, you can go to Naturalcycles.com and use my code Lucy to get 20% off your annual subscription and a free thermometer | ADVERTISEMENT.’

Risky? But after announcing her new method on her Instagram, fans were quick to criticize the new mom, warning her to “be careful.”

Prevention: In a new paid endorsement post, the 27-year-old Coronation Street actress told followers she was using the Natural Cycles app to “naturally prevent pregnancy” while trying to avoid medical interventions like pill or coil.

However, fans were quick to warn Lucy that this might not be the best method.

One fan wrote: ‘My kids are 12 months apart. Be careful. You are super fertile right now. Exclusive breastfeeding is not a contraceptive method. Congratulations!!!’

Another said: “Be careful just because you’re not ovulating doesn’t mean you won’t get pregnant, you have the best chance of getting pregnant when you are, but there are a lot of myths on the internet like a woman can’t get pregnant when she’s on her own.” period, this is not true, it is very unlikely, but it can still happen.’

‘Eeek, I’d be very careful with this, you’re super fertile right now! I know a few people who got pregnant using this,’ another fan said.

A fourth said: ‘Watch out, I know a few people who have gotten pregnant using this app.’

It comes after Lucy revealed her baby’s name while sharing a glimpse of her roller coaster of emotions during childbirth.

The actress admitted that both she and her boyfriend were left ‘sobbing’ tears of happiness after the birth.

Despite struggling to agree on a name the couple liked for their newcomer, they ultimately settled on Sonny Jude.

Caution: However, fans were quick to warn Lucy that this may not be the best method.

In a new interview with OK! MagazineLucy spoke for the first time since giving birth to share details of their new life as a family of three.

Revealing the reason behind her son’s name, Sonny Jude, Lucy joked that it wasn’t that significant, just one she and Ryan could agree on.

I kept adding names to a list. I liked a lot of names that Ryan didn’t. Some were a little off, like Fox. But as the pregnancy progressed, we called him Sonny,” he explained.

Lucy and Ryan were left “sobbing” as they shed tears of joy after the birth, which was induced on doctor’s orders.

She was monitored throughout her pregnancy after being classified as “high risk” due to her heart-shaped uterus, and further scans showed Sonny had reduced movement, leading to the recommendation of an induced labor.

Opting for a vacuum delivery, instead of a forceps delivery or a C-section, she had to undergo an episiotomy during labor, which is a cut in the perineum.

Revealing that she could see everything going on, the actress shared: “I tried not to look, it was like a crime scene, it was freaking me out.” There were piles of blood-soaked handkerchiefs. The points are the part you don’t prepare for.

She went on to explain that despite being happy as a baby for the first few days of motherhood, she was also in a lot of pain after the procedure.

Ryan, who plays as a midfielder for Preston North End, branded his girlfriend a ‘machine’ and admitted he didn’t think she could go through what she went through.

With Sonny almost a month old, the new parents have already settled into family life and routine, admitting they can’t remember a time without him.

“We can’t really remember life before Sonny, it feels like a blur,” Lucy shared.

While they appear to be naturals, the pair aren’t too sure about expanding their brood just yet.

Admitting that they are “in the moment,” Lucy explained that she and Ryan hadn’t talked about baby number two, but she didn’t seem to rule it out, as she added a “yet” to the end.

After returning home from the hospital, she took to Instagram to reveal the happy baby news to her 543,000 followers.

Smiling with Sonny in her arms and Ryan at her side, the actress wrote: ‘Our beautiful boy. 01/30/2023.’

Lucy announced her pregnancy in September 2022, but admitted that the experience was tinged with anxiety, having sadly suffered a miscarriage earlier that year.
