Lucy Beaumont says she sometimes ‘worries she made a mistake’ marrying Jon Richardson in shock unearthed clip – as huge divorce pay out figure is revealed

Lucy Beaumont has said she sometimes fears she “made a mistake” by marrying Jon Richardson, criticizing his stubbornness in a newly discovered clip.

The couple, who have a daughter together and married in April 2015, announced their separation earlier this year.

And now, a new video has surfaced of Lucy sharing her worries about her marriage on Jon’s show Ultimate Worrier, inviting guests to help him analyze his many concerns.

When Lucy was asked if she worried about her ex-husband, she replied: ‘I have a lot. Sometimes I worry that I’ve made a mistake.’

Lucy went on to describe how Jon can’t admit he’s wrong or has made a mistake, which she said can be hard on a marriage.

Lucy Beaumont said she sometimes worries she ‘made a mistake’ by marrying Jon Richardson, as she criticised his stubbornness in an unearthed clip from an episode of Ultimate Worrier

“I think one of the things that’s really hard in a marriage is when the other person can’t admit they’re wrong,” she continued. “You can’t say you’re sorry you made a mistake.”

The ex-couple were joined on the episode by Jonathan Ross, who said: “It’s crucial that a relationship can’t survive this.”

“You can’t judge me on that until I make a mistake,” Jon replied, as the audience burst out laughing. “That’s not fair.”

To prove her point, Lucy added, “And he honestly thinks that I’m the one who’s flawed and that you never make a mistake. I have an example and it’s kind of, it’s not really a, you know, nice story to tell you.”

Lucy started telling a story about their honeymoon, where they rented a car and traveled across America. Jon looked at the map and decided to book a hotel in Santa Cruz.

“Then I looked up Santa Cruz and it has the highest murder rate in America,” she said. “Worse than L.A., the most dangerous place to be. I told Jon about it and he said, well, I’ve booked it now.

‘So we went to this falafel bar and sat by the window, overlooking the sea. I thought, it’s getting late, business is slowing down, and then you’re not going to have any of it.

“Anyway, a gang showed up and one of them got stabbed in the chest, and I looked at Jon, he was emotionless. Like he was watching two pigeons fighting and I was in shock.”

Lucy added: ‘I said, “Oh, I can’t eat this,” so Jon ate my falafel too and I said, “Do you mind?”

“And all because he wouldn’t admit that we were in a dangerous place.”

In another old clip shared on Tuesday, Lucy joked that she didn’t think her marriage to Jon would last forever, two years before they announced their split.

In a found clip from 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown in 2022, Lucy, 41, shared her candid thoughts on their marriage, prompting Jon, also 41, to ask: “Are you guys splitting up?”

In footage from the show, presenter Jimmy Carr asked Lucy: ‘What made you decide to settle down?’

To which the comedian replied, “I don’t see this for a lifetime, isn’t there a song Just Passing Through? A season, a reason or a lifetime.”

“You meet old souls, new souls, assholes in life. Before Jon, I had never had an avocado. We had a wonderful life together. We had a daughter.

‘Who knows what will happen in the future.’

But in a joint statement in April, the couple said: “After 9 years of marriage, we would like to announce our separation. We have mutually and amicably made the difficult decision to divorce and go our separate ways.”

Jon gave Lucy £1.625million when they ended their nine-year marriage.
