Luca Bish returns to social media after taking time out for ‘personal’ issues following split

Luca Bish returned to social media, telling fans that he took some time off to deal with “the things that happen in my personal life.”

The 23-year-old Love Island star, who split from ex-girlfriend Gemma Owen in December, said he didn’t want to “fake it” by continuing to post while not feeling like himself.

Sharing a video on Tuesday, Luca said: ‘Merry Christmas, happy New Year. I’m back, I haven’t been feeling.

“I had a few things going on in my personal and family life and I wanted to stay away from social media and not pretend and be close to the people who are there for me.

‘I know you guys are and that’s why I’m trying to make an effort now. ‘

Luca said he is looking towards the new year, adding: ‘It’s an exciting year.

“There’s a lot going on and I promise I’ll be more active, so yeah, until 2023.”

It comes after Luca was spotted snuggling with a blonde bombshell at a New Year’s Eve party, just weeks after splitting with ex-girlfriend Gemma Owen.

The Brighton native certainly seemed smitten with the stunning girl in a video shared on Instagram by the most recent winner, 28-year-old Ekin-Su Culculoglu.

Meanwhile, Gemma’s mom Louise seemed to take a cryptic dig at Luca when she wrote, “Keep your circle small, no need to fake here,” in a recent post.

It was at Davide Sanclimenti’s birthday party that Luca snuggled up to the mystery woman, before the Italian stud turned 28 on New Year’s Day.

The next morning, Louise, posing with her friends and family including Gemma, wrote the nonsensical caption.

The dressage rider and fishmonger parted ways on several occasions before finally deciding to go their separate ways last month after they failed to patch things up on a make-or-break holiday.

speaking to Goss.es At the PrettyLittleThing Christmas party in Dublin, Gemma said she’s getting over the breakup by keeping busy.

She said: ‘These last few weeks, like going through any breakup, it’s not pretty. It’s not a good time.

“Having to deal with people’s opinions, and having people think they know what’s going on when they don’t, has been a challenge. But overall, I’m fine. I’m getting over it and keeping busy.

Gemma added: ‘The girls have been lovely. Every single one of them has texted me, being there, telling me that if I ever need a call, they’ll be there. That’s really lovely and makes it a bit easier.

They were last pictured together on November 5 celebrating the night of fireworks, with Luca, 23, saying he had scored “another first” with Gemma.

A source close to the couple told MailOnline of the split at the time: ‘Gemma and Luca have decided to separate.

“Their relationship hasn’t worked out for the past few weeks and they’ve come to the conclusion that it’s better for both of them to end things now.

Taking to Instagram to confirm the split, Gemma wrote: ‘To all my followers, I wanted to let you know that Luca and I are no longer in a relationship. It wasn’t an easy decision, but ultimately this is what’s best for both of us right now.

‘Many of you have been on this journey with us from the very beginning and I want to thank you for your continued support as we begin new chapters. Love always, Gem x.’

Sharing his own statement on social media, Luca wrote: “I would have liked some time to process this in private, but as you all know by now Gemma and I have unfortunately made a mutual decision today to go our separate ways.”

“We have been on such a journey together and have created some amazing memories that I will treasure. I can’t thank everyone enough for all their support as a couple during and after Love Island.

“We will remain good friends and I wish nothing but the best for her.”
