L&T wins Rs 1,040 cr contract for part of suburban rail project in Bengaluru

The tender for Corridor-1 and Corridor-3 will also be floated soon, the officials said.

Larsen and Toubro on Saturday received the letter of acceptance for the design and construction of an elevated flyover including associated works between Heelalige and Rajanukunte of Corridor-4 of the Bengaluru Suburban Rail project, officials said.

The contract price is Rs 1,040.51 crore including GST and the contract period is 30 months. The physical work is expected to begin soon, they said.

In a statement, Karnataka's Rail Infrastructure Development Company (K-RIDE) said: “Larsen and Toubro today received the letter of acceptance for the design and construction of an elevated flyover with a length of 8,960 km and At-Grade with a length of 37,920 km (excluding station buildings) including associated works between Heelalige and Rajanukunte, in EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) mode, in Corridor-4 or 'Kanaka' line of the Bengaluru Suburban Railway Project (BSRP).”

This contract also includes construction of double decker section of 1.2 km length for BSRP Corridor-1 and Corridor-4 near Yelahanka, construction of elevated BSRP flyover of 500 m length under BMRCL flyover (Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited) near Benniganahalli. sharing priority between BSRP and BMRCL. South Western Railways is in the advanced stages of transferring the railway land (115.5 acres) to Corridor-4 and is expected soon, the statement said.
