A coroner confirmed that Madi Brooks died of “multiple traumatic injuries” when she was struck by a car after she was allegedly raped.

Two Good Samaritans reportedly stopped to perform CPR on the 19-year-old LSU sophomore after the collision on January 15.

The East Baton Rouge Parish Coroner’s Office says they were led by first responders over the phone in the pouring rain after Madi was struck by the carpool.

Prior to the incidents, she was reportedly raped by a 17-year-old boy, who has not been identified, and 18-year-old Kaivon Washington.

Both were arrested and charged with third-degree rape, and two other men, Everett Lee, 28, and Casen Carver, 18, were charged with being an accessory to the incident.

Prosecutor Stuart Thiort said at a hearing Tuesday that the state would seek enhanced first-degree rape charges and plans to convene a grand jury in the case.

Louisiana’s first-degree rape statute carries a mandatory life sentence without the possibility of parole.

The three adult suspects appeared in court via video link and were ordered to remain under house arrest and wear ankle monitors.

Shocking incidents at LSU Reggie’s bar, where Madi Brooks was last seen

Reggie’s Bar, an infamous Baton Rouge venue known for underage drinking and violence, has had its liquor license suspended again following the death of 19-year-old Madi Brooks.

The bar’s owner, Darin Adams, whose sports bar is known for its stuffed animal heads and Confederate flag décor, declined to comment.

Adams has been in trouble before, with Baton Rouge police raiding the bar in July 2017 and suspending his license for 45 days after 37 people were arrested, many for drinking alcohol.

In September 2015, a drunken 21-year-old was arrested for waving a loaded firearm at people and threatening to open fire.

The following month, a 19-year-old man was charged with rape after attacking a drunken woman who had been separated from her sister at the bar and was trying to find her way home.

And in January 2016, a star on the LSU football team, 22-year-old Dillon Gordon, was stabbed multiple times at the bar.

In May 2022, 16-year-old Carltez Tucker was shot and killed outside Reggie’s and a 24-year-old woman was injured. Detectives arrested three and said they believed the shooting stemmed from a stolen firearm Tucker had taken.

Carver is being held on $50,000 bond, Lee on $75,000 bond and Washington on $150,000 bond.

A legal expert previously told DailyMail.com that the judge overseeing the bail hearing made ‘inappropriate’ comments that could ‘contaminate public opinion’ of the defendants.

The bar where Madi worked, according to various posts on social media, has also been questioned for its responsibility in the incident.

Surveillance footage surrounding Reggie’s bar, where the group met, shows Madi drunk and stumbling, according to police documents.

Police were seen outside the bar yesterday, which remains closed after the incident.

The Louisiana ATC has confirmed that it has suspended the license of Reggie’s Bar following the “seriousness of the allegations and the potential threat to public safety.”

A lawyer for the bar association, Kris Perrett, confirmed in a statement that they are “fully cooperating with the authorities.”

Legal documents seen by DailyMail.com reveal that Madi had 0.319g per cent alcohol in her system, so high that toxicologists said she may have suffered from alcohol poisoning or blackout.

It comes after DailyMail.com revealed that Madi appeared to work at the bar where she met the group, and a TikTok video showed the wild underage antics inside.

Authorities also seized surveillance footage from the bar and nearby businesses showing Madi arriving at the bar at 10:06 p.m., with Carver, Lee, Washington and the teen arriving at 10:18 p.m.

The officers say in their affidavit that at 1 a.m. Madi was seen sitting on a stool by the bar counter before tripping and getting to her feet with the help of the men.

At 1:34 a.m. she was seen sitting on a bench by the front door before falling back down. The teen walked over to her, took off her cap, and helped her to her feet.

The group was seen leaving the bar at 1:49 a.m., and the vehicle was last seen at 1:59 a.m. Carver told police the 17-year-old and Washington had sex with the victim in the seat. back of the car.

Her sorority wrote on Monday: ‘Madi was a bubbly, loving and selfless friend. She left an indelible mark on our chapter, we treasure our memories together and we will never forget her. Our forever friend was also a hero, Madi donated her heart and her kidneys to save others.

The bar provides coverage for Greek sorority girls like Madi, and the video is packed with students and staff sharing their antics on Snapchat.

Madi was dropped off less than a ten minute drive from the bar before she was struck by the carpool at 2:50am.

Carver, who was driving the vehicle, told police he asked Madi where her friends were, but she said she didn’t know and appeared “drunk.”

Darin Adams, the owner of Reggie’s Bar, has been in the spotlight for a long time thanks to the notorious venue.

He added that Madi gave the 17-year-old “verbal consent five times” before having sex with her in the back of the car, with Washington trading with the teen to also have sex with the victim.

During his police interview, Carver denied having seen Madi before or knowing her, but agreed to give her a ride.

Both Carver and Lee remained in the front of the car while the sexual acts took place, and Carver told them to pull over before leaving Madi.

An autopsy revealed that Madi had “injuries consistent with a prior anal sexual assault” as well as her injuries from the accident.

The fatal crash was the second collision on Burbank Drive, raising questions about the safety of the area.

Ethel Wesly, 71, was murdered in the same week, with locals arguing that more lighting, sidewalks and a lower speed limit are needed.

More lighting is also planned for the driveway to the Pelican Lakes subdivision in Burbank, where Madi was killed.
