LSU unveiled brand new incredible air-conditioned helmets for its football team this week for players to test drive.
With home games in Baton Rouge, one in Orlando, one in Starkville, Miss., and one in Oxford, Miss., the Tigers launched a plan in September to beat the heat.
The football program unveiled its new trick this week, debuting the air-conditioned helmets the team will wear for all practices and games in 2023.
The helmets were made by Louisiana-based company Tigeraire, which shared a clip on its social media pages of some LSU stars trying on their new gear.
They were impressed with defensive lineman Mekhi Wingo saying, “It actually feels really good.”

“That feels good, mate!” tight end exclaimed Mac Markway as he put it on. “When I run in this, I don’t sweat… not at all. It’s like, cold.’
The helmets run on a “next-level” battery-powered system that has a five-hour life before needing a charge and can last up to four years, according to sports business expert Joe Pompliano.
The helmets will give the Tigers a huge advantage as they travel to Mississippi State, where temperatures can reach triple digits.
Quarterback Jayden Daniels in particular could be helped to stay cool and controlled under center.
However, other SEC schools might consider investing in similar technology to keep pace with LSU’s revolutionary techniques.
Entering their sophomore year with head coach Brian Kelly, the Tigers are coming off a 10-4 season (6-2 in SEC play), which was topped off with a 63-7 thrashing of Purdue in the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl and win the SEC West.
