Prince William is “entering the age of his statesman” according to a legion of royal fans on social media.
On X (formerly Twitter), admirers of the Prince of Wales, they commented on how the prince has performed on the world stage lately.
William, 41, has taken on senior roles while his father, King Charles, 75, receives treatment for cancer.
Last week he represented Britain at an international commemoration ceremony on Omaha Beach to mark the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings, alongside other royals and world leaders, prompting some to call him a statesman.
Then a photo shared yesterday by the Prince and Princess of Wales’ official X account sparked even more similar comments.

In the photo, William is sitting on a train heading to Cardiff, with a red folder on the table in front of him.
He visited Cardiff Metropolitan University to attend an event celebrating Wales’ seaweed industry, jointly organized by the Earthshot Prize and the Future Generations Commissioner for Wales.

Another poster added: ‘Prince William is a great statesman.’
And a fourth agreed, writing: ‘Prince William is not only the heir apparent, a statesman, but has star power!! He is deeply loved and respected.”
Earlier this week, after his June 6 appearance in France, an X user wrote: “Prince William is a true statesman, respectfully regal and a great future king.”

Another X user wrote approvingly: ‘William is indeed a man to be reckoned with, he is a statesman, distinguished and not foolish. He is one of the handsomest men alive, and he carries himself with pride and humility at the same time.’
Meanwhile, royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams also described the heir as a statesman.

He told Newsweek: ‘William was long considered the perfect diplomat. It was he who was chosen as the first royal family to make an official visit to Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories in 2018, which he carried out admirably.
‘Last year he made a surprise visit to British troops on the border with Ukraine. He also advocated permanent peace in Gaza in February.’
He added that the Prince is a “good public speaker,” and praised the speech William gave last week at Canada’s official celebration of the 80th anniversary of D-Day.
Fitzwilliams described the address as ‘fantastic’.
He also noted that attending the event alongside 24 world leaders was an “important moment” for the royal family, who represented the king during his cancer treatment.
