Love Island’s Samie Elishi details hospital dashboard and talks about how her thyroid surgery to have a nodule removed was delayed due to her illness
Love Island’s Samie Elishi has revealed that she was recently rushed to hospital and had to postpone her upcoming thyroid surgery due to illness.
The reality star, 23, shared a tearful video in April discussing a recent cancer scare when she found a lump on her neck.
Samie updated fans about her surgery to have the lump removed and explained on her YouTube channel that she fell ill after her recent cruise trip.
She said, “I didn’t realize how bad tonsillitis could be, but I was on an IV during the cruise trying to get food and water in me because I couldn’t eat or drink.
“As soon as I landed I was supposed to go to the Beyoncé concert with PrettyLittleThing, which I absolutely regretted I couldn’t, but I had to land and go straight to the hospital.

Samie continued, “My mum and I went straight to the hospital and got checked because the antibiotics I had been given on the cruise were wearing off so I had to be hospitalized here.
“So I got there almost overnight and actually I didn’t know this, but you can’t have surgery if you have an infection.” My surgery was due to take place a few days later after the cruise, so it was postponed. Now it will be the end of this month, so it’s already pretty soon.
“I’ve also had such great messages saying how helpful it was to share my journey. People have found lumps in their throats and started looking into it.
“People have been sending me pictures of the scars that have healed because I was worried about that, but I’m not anymore, I just want it to be over. So yes, the operation is still going on, it’s just been postponed.’
The brunette beauty recently told her followers that fans saw a lump on her neck that doctors revealed was “grade 3,” meaning they can’t tell if it’s cancer or not.
Samie said, “It’s a two-inch nodule on my thyroid,” before revealing she was waiting for surgery where doctors can take a biopsy.
She admitted that she hadn’t posted an elaborate statement about her recent split from beau Tom Clare due to her ongoing health issues.
The reality star, 23, said: ‘My surgery was due a few days after the cruise so it was postponed. Now it will be the end of this month so it’s pretty soon now’
Saying to the camera, ‘It’s rough, me and Tom broke up. It ended on a good note. No one has done anything bad to each other, there is still a lot of love there.”
“It just didn’t work on the outside and we agreed on most things.
‘There’s no bad blood there, me and Tom. I would never say a bad word about him and he wouldn’t say a bad word about me either.’
Further: “We just weren’t working on the outside. I feel like when you get out of the villa you have so much pressure and so many other things to worry about that play a big role in a relationship.”
‘I thought me and Tom would live happily ever after, but life happens’
She then tearfully discussed her upcoming surgery, saying, “Basically what they’re doing is they’re cutting your neck… I shouldn’t be mad because I’m so thankful that people have been messaging and I’ve caught it now.” I am so grateful’.
