Love Island’s Samie and Tom surprised with welcome home bash… as they confirm relationship status

They flew home to the UK earlier this week after coming third during the Love Island final on Monday night.

And it’s been a great welcome home for Tom Clare and Samie Elishi, as the couple were surprised by friends and family on Friday night.

The footballer, 23, and the estate agent, 22, were overwhelmed when friends filmed them walking to the surprise party, which featured their initials in giant letters on a light box.

Co-star Claudia Fogerty even turned up at the party as she reunited with her friends after she was kicked off the island before the finale.

Tom also took advantage of the next morning to answer if he had already made things official with Samie, confirming that although not yet, she will soon be his girlfriend.

A large group of Tom and Samie’s nearest and dearest gathered to throw them their homecoming party, leaving the young couple overwhelmed.

Decorating a venue for the party, a giant ‘S’ and ‘T’ in light box letters were placed in one corner, along with a whimsical balloon arch and neon light reading ‘Crazy in Love’.

Many also filmed their arrival as the couple walked upstairs to see all their guests waiting, greeting everyone with shocked faces and hugs.

Claudia also surprised the couple, who left the villa before the last week in a quadruple dump.

As she made her way to the party, both Tom and Samie were shocked, with the latter putting his hand over her mouth before running over to hug her friend.

Sharing a video of the moment to her Instagram Stories, Claudia wrote: ‘Surprise @samieelishi @tomclare I wouldn’t miss your homecoming party for the world. I love you both very much and I am very proud of you.’

The next morning, Tom turned to his own Stories to answer some fan questions as Samie took the couple on a road trip.

Asked by a follower if he was surprised to see Claudia back at the party, Tom replied: “The best surprise, she’s a top girl.”

Setting the record straight, the footballer told the camera: ‘Samie will be my girlfriend very soon. We are very private people and it’s something that just the two of us would do, but yes, she will be my girlfriend 100%.’

Tom and Samie managed to make it all the way to the final and place third, despite both coming in as stunning contestants.

But ultimately, they lost to winners Kai Fagan and Sanam Harrinanan and fell just behind runners-up Ron Hall and Lana Jenkins.

The duo will meet the entire cast of Love Island on Sunday night’s reunion episode of the show, which will see them sit down with host Maya Jama, a week after leaving the village.
