Love Island’s Paige Turner confirms breakup from Finley Tapp and says they are still ‘good friends’

Paige Turner said the lockdown contributed to the end of her three-year relationship with Finley Tapp when she appeared on Love Island: After Sun on Sunday night.

The Scottish singer, 25, who won the show’s first-ever Winter series in South Africa in 2020 with her Recruitment Consultant ex Finn, 23, reflected on their separation during the first episode of the series.

Paige, who looked fabulous in a black cropped dress for the ITV2 performance, insisted the pair are ‘still good friends’.

Speaking to host Maya Jama, she said, “WWe are still very good friends. I think we grew apart. We did a lockdown together and every battle we could have faced was faced.”

Maya went on to ask the blonde beauty if she’s looking for a new partner yet, the singer added, “No, no, not for now.”

Paige appeared on the spin-off show alongside former co-star Shaughna Phillips who joked “she’s the new bombshell” on her way to the villa.

Paige replied, “No, I’m not, but if him.” [Finn] goes in there, he’s going to be in trouble, we don’t have another Adam Collard bomb’.

Earlier this year, during a chat with MailOnline earlier this year, the couple explained that the Covid-19 restrictions actually benefited them.

“Covid helped us because we were able to spend that time together without being pulled from pillar to post. We had a crazy three weeks coming out for lockdown and the quality time you spend together is quite limited,” Finn shared.

Continued: “So I think some good advice is to try and make sure that everything going on around you doesn’t interfere with getting that quality time whoever you date.”

The duo are said to have realized they “weren’t forever,” according to claims last month, and reportedly already moved out of their shared home in Manchester, with Paige returning to Scotland while Finn spent time travelling.

The news came from The Sun, with insiders claiming, “Paige and Finn had a really good run, but they’re still super young and decided it wasn’t forever in the end.”

They added that they live separately and continued, “Paige is spending some time in Scotland figuring out what she wants to do next.”

MailOnline reached out to representatives for Paige and Finn for comment at the time.

In April, Paige shared snaps from Scotland when she attended a horse racing event at Ayr Racecourse – with it unclear whether she had just visited or moved.

While Finn shared snaps from West Hollywood while spending time visiting the US.

They enjoyed a skiing holiday together in March, with the last grid Instagram post of the pair together on March 20 from Finn.

They met in South Africa on the very first episode of Love Island’s winter series, won the show and collected a cash prize of £50,000.

But interrupted by the spread of Covid-19, they were plunged into life upon leaving the villa and spent time in Paige’s homeland of West Lothian.

They later moved to Manchester and have lived in the city ever since, sharing a lavish apartment together.
