Maya Jama has said that she is looking forward to seeing Casa Amor return to the winter series of Love Island as “we all want to know what our partner is up to on vacation.”
The 28-year-old new host of the hit ITV2 show has outlined some of the things she is most excited about ahead of the second series filmed in South Africa.
Admitting that she has been a fan of Love Island for years, Maya described the show as fun because it’s like watching previous ‘holiday romance’ ‘on TV’.
Host: Maya Jama has said that she is looking forward to seeing Casa Amor return to the winter series of Love Island as “we all want to know what our partner is doing on vacation.”
Speaking about what she has always loved about the show as a viewer, Maya explained that it was the first reality show other than Big Brother that she made sure she was home to watch it.
“Everyone gets involved, everyone has an opinion, from the older people in your family to the younger ones,” he explained.
#It’s fun, it’s fun to see how people play in different situations and wonder what you would do if you were in the same position.
“Most of us have had a bit of a holiday romance before and it’s like watching that on TV.”
Exciting: The 28-year-old new presenter of the hit ITV2 show has outlined some of the things she’s most excited about ahead of the second series filmed in South Africa.
And specifically on the topic of wanting to see Casa Amor in this series, Maya added: ‘I feel like that’s one of the best moments.
“We all want to secretly know what our partner does when they’re on a boys’ or girls’ vacation.”
Maya, who has recently insisted that she is “very, very single,” has dated rapper Stormzy and only last year called off her engagement to NBA star Ben Simmons.
Ben popped the question over the festive period in 2021, reportedly after a whirlwind seven months.
Not far to go! Maya will host her first series of Love Island after her predecessor Laura Whitmore stepped down after the summer season in 2022 (Islanders shown)
Her relationship with Stormzy, whom she dated for four years, came to an end in 2019, with Stormzy previously confessing to “disrespecting” and being “inconsiderate” to her.
And the presenter, 28, called things off with basketball player Ben, 26, in August last year to focus on her career.

Single and ready to mingle: While she was recently rumored to have rekindled her romance with her ex Stormzy, Maya Jama has insisted that she is “very, very single.”

The newest series will launch on January 16.
“It feels amazing,” Maya said. ‘It’s very, very exciting. It’s been a strange feeling because you find out and then it’s the waiting and the preparation.
‘I just can’t wait for it to start. I am counting the seconds and the days to reach South Africa.
On what she thinks makes a good islander, Maya said: “Someone who is looking for love, someone with a lively personality, someone who is open and shares their feelings, but also someone who is not afraid to keep their options open and test the waters.”
‘Only someone who is willing to get sucked in and fully invested in every part of the experience and all the challenges. Get the most out of it!
‘And let it be a proper test and see if your relationship can continue with that, rather than playing it safe. I think that’s what makes the best islander.
And as for who she thinks could make a surprise return like Adam Collard did last year, Maya says she hopes season three’s Theo Campbell can be a good addition.
She said: ‘I found it [Theo] hilarious. That line about ‘go with them’ – that was it. We were all feeling it and Theo really said it. Sometimes you need that honesty!
