Love Island’s Lucie Donlan Reveals She Picked Her Wedding Dress

Lucie Donlan has revealed that she chose her wedding dress after spontaneously shopping with her fiancé Luke Mabbott in London.

The couple, who starred in Love Island but in different series, got engaged in December 2021 and have now begun planning their big day.

Lucie, 24, took to Instagram to reveal that while in the capital they decided to visit the luxury boutique Lovely Bride to try on dresses and ended up finding the perfect one.

Posing inside the store, Lucie held up a sign that read: ‘I said yaaas’ (sic).

She later questioned while enjoying dinner with 27-year-old Luke, who managed to avoid looking at the dress as he sat in the store.

The surfer said in a video: ‘So guys I was having a weird day. We’re in London and we obviously want to start planning our wedding soon and things like that.

“And we were sitting in the cab on the way to the hotel and I saw something on my Instagram and I spontaneously tried a few things today and something exciting happened.”

Luke, for his part, was more joking when he asked his followers: ‘Guess where we are…’

The former islander previously told MailOnline the couple had considered ‘flying out somewhere’ and getting married ‘just the two of us’, as she admitted to preferring a private wedding to a big event.

Lucie explained that Luke will be moving to Cornwall with his dog Bunny once renovations to their idyllic seaside cottage are complete.

Lucie said, “We said we could fly somewhere and get married, so we haven’t decided yet who’s going to come to our wedding – it might just be the two of us.” We would prefer to have a much smaller wedding for sure.

‘We are a family oriented couple. We would love for our wedding to be just family and close friends.’

After dating since July 2020, Lucie says they’re in no rush to get married and plan to be engaged for three to four years, though that won’t stop her from shopping for wedding dresses.

She added: ‘We’re going to have a longer engagement. Let’s travel first, there are many places we want to visit.

“However, we’re still talking about our wedding day and obviously I have some ideas about what I’d like and I told Luke that I’m going to do a day to try on wedding dresses for a bit of fun and to get an idea.” but we’re going to be engaged for two or three years and then we’ll start planning our wedding properly.’
