Love Island’s Liam Reardon CONFIRMS he’s rekindled relationship with ex-girlfriend Millie Court

Liam Reardon has confirmed he has rekindled his relationship with Love Island co-star Millie Court and insists he didn’t cheat on her after they won the 2021 series.

The ex-Celebs Go Dating contestant spoke for the first time about speculation that the pair have rekindled their romance after being spotted kissing on holiday.

Their year-long relationship ended in July 2022 after they struggled to cope with the pressures of winning the ITV2 show and Liam faced continued negativity from fans who believed he mistreated Millie and even cheated on her.

But the former bricklayer, 23, insists he never betrayed Millie, 26, or any of his former girlfriends, telling MailOnline: ‘I never cheated.’

The Welshman says viewers misjudged him after he kissed Casa Amor bombshell Lillie Haynes on his Love Island series and despite apologizing for his misconduct, his romance with Millie was still tarnished by the mistake.

In an exclusive interview, Liam said: “There are a lot of rumors that me and Millie are back together… we’re very good friends, we’re very good friends… and we’ve been since the day we met.

“People can make their own assumptions and that’s up to them, but I just want you to know that we’re really good friends. We’re friends for now… we’re just really good friends.

“If we ever get back together in the future, yes, possibly we will share it with our fans, we’ll have to see.”

He played off during Love Island’s Casa Amor loyalty test, sharing a bed and a passionate kiss with Lillie, despite being paired with Millie.

But the ASOS ambassador forgave Liam, and they won the £50,000 cash prize, later moving in together as they explored their relationship outside the villa.

The pair have found criticism surrounding their romance difficult to handle and Liam admits he feels there is little he can do to convince their large social media following that he is a loyal friend.

He said: ‘Myself and Millie have come in for a lot of criticism, especially myself, when we broke up certain things came out about my cheating, which obviously wasn’t true. I’ve never cheated.

“When people have something on their mind… you can’t try to tell them otherwise, you just have to let them think what they think.

“I was 21 when I went on the show, 22 left and I had a girlfriend I didn’t know eight weeks before and I had a whole new life and people were calling me all sorts of things and talking about my mistakes. I thought, “Jesus, it’s a lot to handle.”

“I’m not saying what I did was right. I agreed and said I was sorry and luckily Millie took me back and we went on to have fun and become a real couple.’

He also says it was impossible to keep his newfound relationship with Millie a secret from the pair, who were noticed by fans who spent the Easter holidays together and later kissed at the airport after flying home from Ibiza.

Liam said: ‘Obviously dating is pretty hard… when you leave the show there are so many eyes on you and no matter what I do someone will see me.

“Dating in public, in restaurants or walking in the park isn’t easy because people know you and are taking pictures. If you want to keep it private, that’s quite difficult.’

And it was winning the show that made their relationship particularly tricky to navigate, as the differing opinions from fans were hard for the couple to ignore.

Liam continued, “Winning definitely put pressure on us as a couple.

“I had so many people say to me ‘Toby and Chloe should have won, they were a better match’, which I don’t take offense to, but when you win people think you should be together forever and a perfect couple.

“People said we shouldn’t even argue but we’re just a normal couple and every couple fights and certain things like if we don’t post a picture together for three days…people would assume we’re broken up, it’s frustrating that people have this expectation of you when at the end of the day you’re just a normal guy and girl dating.”

Liam has teamed up with Emmi Caffé Latte, Love Island’s official coffee partner, who has supplied the villa with ready-to-drink drinks this season.

Making a cup of coffee in the morning has become one of the ways islanders show their affection for each other, with Liam saying he could have saved a lot of time courting Millie if he had access to Emmi Caffé Latte’s prepared iced coffee .

He said, “Emmi Caffé Latte, they are the sponsors of Love Island this year and luckily for the contestants on this show, they have ready-to-drink coffee waiting for them in the fridge.

“I wish I had these during my season because I made Millie iced coffee every morning, and it would have been perfect if I had a ready-made coffee ready for me, so they’re lucky this year! It’s actually a bit of a love language, isn’t it? Giving a cup of coffee to someone you like.

“You quickly see who people in the villa really like because they give them coffee or a bowl of cereal… it’s easy to see who’s feeling who.”

The coffee brand also researched dating and found that 79 per cent of Brits would confess to cheating on a first date, a confession Liam says he never has to make.

He added, “I wouldn’t be part of that statistic… but if I had cheated, I certainly wouldn’t be talking about it on a first date.” I don’t know why you would talk about it… you must die with the lie!’
