Georgia Harrison has credited Ed Balls MP with taking her from a ‘reality star to a campaigner’.
Speaking on Friday’s Good Morning Britain, the Love Islander, 28, praised the former Labor politician, 56, turned TV presenter, for her help.
In a pre-recorded message for Georgia, Ed told her: ‘It is your determination, your passion, your experience, your absolute mission to change things for other people that makes you a totally brilliant politician. You have to do it.
‘I can tell you that there are so many people who would like to help you, from all sides of politics. All you have to do is ask.’
Georgia then discussed her political career plans and admitted: ‘I’m so grateful to Ed that it was him who turned me from a reality star into a campaigner.
‘I would actually like to work in politics. I think it would be good, especially for someone my age, to pursue that. From Love Island to Parliament.’

Georgia became a victim of revenge porn in 2020 after her ex-boyfriend Stephen Bear uploaded CCTV footage of them having sex to an OnlyFans pan.
Bear is currently serving a 21-month prison sentence after being found guilty of voyeurism and two charges of making private, sexual photographs and films public.
Georgia and Bear met through the reality television and influencer circuits, and then began a relationship.
But they broke up and had not spoken for a year when she met him after an invitation ‘for a cup of tea’ and it ended with lunch and then sex.
Three months later, he posted footage of their intercourse on OnlyFans before it went viral on the internet.
Georgia later launched a campaign calling for stricter measures against those who share explicit content without consent.
Revenge porn was made a criminal offense in 2015, but before June this year prosecutors had to prove intent to cause humiliation or distress, but this clause has now been removed.
Former TOWIE star Georgia has called for better online protection for people and pushed for the Online Safety Bill.
From Love Island to Parliament? Georgia then admitted: ‘Possibly I would like to work in politics. I think it would be good, especially for someone my age to pursue that.”
And now she wants to pursue a career in politics after helping change revenge porn laws.
Georgia told The sun: ‘I had serious discussions with a few Labor MPs about whether I could stand as a candidate for Essex, and they said it would be possible.
‘They told me to go away and think about it. They said that if I was serious about running for MP, they would support me.
‘I think it would also be very inspiring for little girls growing up to see someone like me running for parliament. We need more normal people entering politics.”
