Love Island winners Jess Harding and Sammy Root share a triumphant kiss as they return to chilly England after unexpectedly taking home £50,000 in prize money
Love was still in the air, but the air was considerably colder when Sammy Root and Jess Harding left Mallorca on Wednesday and flew back to the UK.
Two days earlier, the pair stunned fans by winning the latest summer edition of Love Island ahead of clear favorites Lochan Nowacki and Whitney Adebayo, netting them £50,000 richer.
But the controversy surrounding their unexpected triumph was wiped out when the pair left the Spanish villa and flew home courtesy of Jet2.
Apparently accustomed to the rising temperatures currently sweeping mainland Europe, Jess, 22, wore a thigh-skimming mini dress as she exited the plane and headed for the tarmac at London Stansted.
The esthetician completed her look with a pair of Converse boots, while her signature blonde hair was swept back into a messy ponytail.

Sammy, also 22, joined his girlfriend in a casual black hooded top and matching joggers as he returned to English soil for the first time since June.
The project manager from Kent, an unpopular figure among Love Island fans, shared a cheering kiss with Jess before the couple headed for the arrivals hall.
