Love Island UK: Aaron Waters ‘weight-shamed me, acne’ claims ex Courtney Stubbs
The ex of one of the Australian ‘bombshells’ on Love Island UK accused him of disrespecting her during their time together on the Australian version of the show.
Courtney Stubbs teamed up with Aaron Waters on the third series of Love Island Australia in 2021, an experience she found harrowing due to his alleged behavior.
He made a series of damning claims about Aaron on Instagram, after he debuted alongside Jessie Wynter as late entries in the series Winter Love Island, which is currently filming in South Africa and simulcast in Britain.
Aaron Waters’ ex Courtney Stubbs (pictured) accused him of disrespecting her during their time together on Love Island, Australia. Aaron now appears as a contestant on the popular British version of the dating show.
“I’ve never referred to this before…because every time I think about it, it makes me want to cry,” she began.
‘[Aaron] has fallen in love with Island UK and the first thing he wanted to do in his promotion was drag me. Now this isn’t the first time he’s dragged me along, so it’s something I’m pretty used to, honestly. But after a year, I thought, “Surely he’ll stop talking bad about me?”
Courtney went on to say that Aaron’s behavior towards her was “horrible”.
Courtney made a series of damning claims about Aaron on Instagram, after he debuted alongside Jessie Wynter as late series entries Winter Love Island.
“He intimidated me, he belittled me, he shamed me for my skin, he shamed me for my body. He constantly told me to fuck off [and] He shut the whole show down and it became his personal vendetta against me to make sure all men felt the same way he felt about me,” he added.
Courtney said she never responded to Aaron or called him out on his alleged behavior because she didn’t know how to respond at the time.
She also claimed that Aaron would subtly criticize her appearance, saying that he preferred ‘clean girls’ and ‘girls who took care of their skin’, despite Courtney taking medication for her severe acne.
“I literally had cystic acne on my face, which obviously I already felt so insecure going on TV with my skin like that,” she said. “So to have someone point it out to you, I’m like, ‘Oh, cool. Guys will notice this throughout the show.'”

Courtney also claimed that Aaron would criticize his weight and say that he “likes [it] when girls take care of their bodies and go to the gym’. At the time, she was struggling to lose weight.
Breaking down in tears, she added: “So I’d go on the show, I didn’t feel confident in my skin, I didn’t feel confident in my body, and then literally the first morning in the villa, I was skin-shamed and body-shamed. ‘
He then called out Love Island UK for giving him a platform for the second time.

“I don’t know how men get away with bullying girls, putting girls down, telling girls they are fat and their skin is bad,” she said.
‘All I did was get intimidated by him. And then this is what I have to deal with… And it would be nice for people to really know what he’s like.’
Daily Mail Australia has contacted Love Island UK for comment.
Courtney isn’t the only one who isn’t happy about Aaron’s appearance on Love Island, as many Brits aren’t happy about the show casting non-UK islanders.
In the comments section of Love Island’s official Instagram account, fans say that the Aussie interlopers are “not necessary at all.”

Others have pointed to the logistical problems Brits and Australians have in finding love when they live on opposite sides of the world.
‘What’s the point of bringing Australians? How will it work when they live on the other side of the world from London? said one viewer.
‘I do not understand this. Will they be moving to the UK for the rest of their lives? another questioned.
‘I’m from Australia, but why? I love Love Island because it’s from the UK and this ruins it. Aaron isn’t a bombshell either… I think he’s too into himself,” wrote one Australian.
