Love Island star Megan Barton Hanson reveals she was raped and fell pregnant by abusive ex who nearly killed her
Megan Barton Hanson has revealed her horrific ordeal at the hands of an abusive ex, saying she became pregnant after he removed his condom without her consent, an illegal practice known as stealth.
Speaking to Paul Carrick Brunson on his podcast We Need to Talk, Megan revealed the ordeal happened before she found fame on Love Island when she was dating an older man.
Megan revealed she chose to terminate the pregnancy, but her ex flew into a violent rage on the way home.
She recalled: ‘He said, ‘You’re disgusting. You just killed our baby.” Then he says, “You’re making me sick,” then he grabbed the seat belt, wrapped it around my neck, bit my nose – this was post-rhinoplasty – and said, “Do you think you’re beautiful with that new nose? ” bit it, started filming me and said, “Cry, b***h. Go and tell the camera what you just did.”
‘I was so shocked I couldn’t even cry. I couldn’t breathe.’
Megan revealed she was then given ’10 seconds to get to safety’ when her ex threatened to kill her.

She recalled: “We are on a highway, cars are speeding past at 70 miles per hour. I thought, even if I try [to run ] it’s just going to piss him off more because he’s definitely going to catch me, so I just stood there frozen.”
While the ex eventually took her home, the ‘nightmare’ continued when the abusive ex arrived at her parents’ house armed with a crowbar.
Megan revealed he had ‘come to terms’ with her father Kevin, a marine biologist, and ‘strangled’ her mother Justine.
The family fled to safety in their car, but he threw the crowbar through the rear window.
Megan confessed, “I thought he was literally going to kill me, like he was. He was literally behaving psychotically.”
She reported her ex to the police and after testifying against him in court, he was sentenced to a month and a half in prison.
During the podcast, Megan also described another abusive relationship where she was held at knifepoint.
She explained that she had tried to end the relationship when: ‘He put a knife to my throat and asked me to put his bank details in my online banking and transfer him ten thousand dollars a month because he was charging me because I didn’t like loved him.
“My hands were shaking. I thought, “Okay, okay.” He trashed my whole house and said, ‘Yes, I know you don’t love me, you damn bitch.’
Terrified, Megan then stayed in the relationship and agreed to go on holiday with him, where the abuse continued.
Megan, who worked as a stripper and did webcam work before Love Island, recalled: ‘He hit me, I fell into bed, and then he paced the room for four hours telling me what a piece of sex. * That’s me, that I’m an escort slut, that no one will ever respect me. I just thought, ‘Should I run?’
