A winner of the popular dating show Love Island has been hit after her brother’s restaurant was destroyed by a suspicious fire.

South Australia’s police and fire service are investigating after Bar 83, a popular pizza restaurant in Glenside, was destroyed by a suspicious fire in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Emergency services were called just after 3 a.m., when firefighters arrived to find the property ‘well lit’ and an adjoining business threatened by the blaze. It took firefighters 50 minutes to contain the blaze, but the bar was ‘completely destroyed’.

“Police Fire Cause Investigators arrived at the scene and believe the fire was started deliberately,” said a spokesman for the SA police.

Claudia Bonifazio, the sister of Dion Bonifazio, the owner of Bar 83, is now trying to use her platform as an influencer to highlight the attack and raise money for the company, especially since it was not insured.

“(Dion) has put his heart, soul, sweat, tears and definitely a lot of money into this business,” she said on social media.

“We are so extremely saddened and devastated by this arson attack that it is beyond comprehension.”

She also had a message for everyone responsible for the fire.

And for the scum that caused this, karma is real. I promise,’ she said.

Police have not made any arrests or reported the fire.

Ms. Bonifazio has also started one GoFundMe Campaign to help the bar get back on its feet, with the entire business destroyed by the fire

“It’s so upsetting to have to tell your staff that they lost their jobs because of something you didn’t do at all…my brother is really so discouraged. So upset, distraught, shattered, beside herself, there isn’t a good enough word to explain how an entrepreneur can be feeling right now,” she wrote in the description.

‘…I personally help as much as I can, unfortunately I can only do so much.

“All donations go directly to Dion’s company, as well as the landlord, who is unfortunately asking for money as soon as possible.”

SA Police are currently investigating the blaze, with authorities also being called to Osborne Street after a stolen black Subaru Impreza was found on fire.

They are urging anyone with information about either incident to contact Crime Stoppers.
