Love Island: All Stars fans have been left shocked after discovering Marcel Somerville’s ‘real age’ ahead of his return to the show.

It was previously confirmed that the reality star, who first appeared in the series in 2017, would return to the villa next week.

The father-of-one, who is still married to estranged wife Rebecca Vieira, turned 39 on Tuesday, making him the show’s oldest ever contestant.

When fans found out Marcel was born in 1986, they flocked to social media to share their shock.

A fan posted on X, formerly Twitter: ‘Why is someone almost 40 entering the villa. “I’m not even trying to be mean, but the reality is that Hannah wasn’t lucky last year, this show isn’t going to have much of an audience for him.”

‘I just looked up Marcel’s age, gosh, he turns 39 today, there’s no way he can last that long!’; “He’ll probably drop out on day three or be dumped at the end of the week.”

While another said: ‘Marcel going back to Love Island has cracked me up all day, you’re 40 years old with kids at home and still legally married to boot.’

It comes as Neville’s estranged wife Rebecca shared a cryptic message on Instagram on Tuesday, hours before it was confirmed he would be joining Love Island: All Stars alongside his ex-girlfriend Gabby Allen, 32.

Neville is part of the line-up for the second series of the ITV2 spin-off show, just months after splitting from Rebecca.

The star first appeared on the dating show in 2017 and finished in fourth place with Gabby Allen.

They kept their romance going outside the villa, but they split after he cheated on her while on holiday. Marcel later found love with athlete Rebecca and they tied the knot in August 2022.

However, the TV star moved out of their family home and deleted all of Rebecca’s social media presence in March last year after his wife cheated. They are still married and in the process of divorcing.

Now, Rebecca has broken her silence by re-sharing a quote that reads: “What makes you beautiful is that you have remained soft in a life that tried to harden you.”

She also shared a sizzling bikini photo with her followers, showing off her amazing figure in a two-piece Gucci suit as she posed in a kitchen.

Following news of their split, Rebecca wrote a public apology letter, holding herself fully responsible for cheating on Marcel with American rapper Slim Jxmmi.

She wrote on Instagram at the time: “Most of you would have seen what’s going on by now. “I made a big mistake, I embarrassed not only my husband, but myself and both our families.”

“My actions were foolish and hurt so many people around us, but especially my husband.”

“I said a lot of things I shouldn’t have said and it was stupid of me, so I’m not going to sit here and justify my actions. Those decisions should never have been made.”

She added: “I want to apologize publicly to my Neville, just as loudly as the rest of the noise. Despite all the hurt, shame and pain I have caused him, there is nothing and no one in the world that comes before you and our family.”

“Nobody could ever compare.”

She then posted a photo of the couple’s gold wedding rings, which were engraved with “always and forever.”

Marcel and Rebecca welcomed their son Roman in January 2021 and are now co-parents to their son.

Ending the year, Marcel said he was happy to say goodbye to 2024 as it was the “most difficult year of his life.”

In September, Marcel shared a post reflecting on his “stressful year” full of “ups and downs” and said he wants to focus on his son Roman and “protect his future.”

He wrote: ‘It’s been a stressful year, with ups and downs, but you only get what you can handle.’

‘Things happen in life that make you look at the things that are most important to you. For me, the most important thing to me is my Son, and I do everything in my power to make sure he is always WELL!”

“Protecting his future is something I’ve always tried to do, but if this year has shown me anything, it’s that life can always fool you.”

“So I’ve been on a journey of learning and growth that has taken me down a path I had never thought of before.”

“I’ve learned that you can’t always protect them from everything life has to offer, but my priority now is to make sure I can give Ro everything he needs in life until I can’t anymore.”
