Love Island fans were furious during Sunday night’s episode when they accused the contestants of trying to sabotage Ron Hall and Lana Jenkins.
Financial adviser Ron, 25, was seen confronting Shaq Muhammad, 24, after he asked if Ron was being honest with makeup artist Lana, 25.
The pair weren’t impressed after Shaq suggested they were in the top three funniest couples during the recent ranking challenge.
After chatting with Shaq, Ron couldn’t let go of the situation later in the episode, talking to Tom, Samie, Kai, and Sanam around the campfire.
In doing so, he said he felt that people thought he and Lana had tried to have a “nice, early drama” on the show before “getting comfortable” and continuing to the end.

The group then discussed Ron’s comments, with many Islanders insisting that Ron had a firm game plan to win the show.
Insisting that this was not the case, many viewers took to Twitter to defend Ron, with some claiming that their fellow village residents wanted to sabotage them so that they themselves could have a better chance of winning the series.
One person wrote: ‘Honestly I think the whole village thinks Lana and Ron are going to win so they’re trying to sabotage him by spreading the word that he’s a gamer. Isn’t it funny how all this fuss is going on now that everyone knows it’s coming to an end? Everyone is desperate to win.
Someone else shared: “Biggest players in the game there Sammie and Tom / shaq and troll… Trying to take Ron down because they get a tip that the public doesn’t buy him or Lana.”
Another viewer posted: “First Jesse was accused of playing a game, now it’s Ron’s turn, why don’t these couples just focus on each other and foster their love?”
While someone else tweeted: ‘The “playing” Ron thing doesn’t even make sense. Ron said as a viewer that he thought the people who had early drama and then slipped were the game players, if that’s the case why would it be THEIR game which is exactly what’s happening with Lana?
“Judging from that clip, what Ron said wasn’t too bad, I think everyone has been thinking that he’s been playing a game from the beginning and needs a justification,” another viewer shared.
Someone else wrote: ‘I hope Ron freaks out because it’s out of order how all those little balls of slime are saying everything under the sun behind his back. The ending concerned that he and Lana will win, so if someone is “playing”…
Defense League: Many viewers took to Twitter to defend Ron, with some claiming that their fellow village residents wanted to sabotage them.
Another person posted: “The way Sammie has spread this whole game plan around hoping everyone will turn on Ron and just made the public side with him and give him a chance to win.”
While someone else shared: “So Ron is a gamer because he found love and a show that is made for finding love… how does that work then?”
Meanwhile, another fan of the show posted: ‘I watched that clip again and Ron wasn’t saying he was playing a game at all. He’s saying that’s what people think.
Ron was later furious after realizing that the village had been talking about him.
He told his fellow islanders: ‘Honestly, I’m furious. Who started this? Who started this by the fire pit?
‘The only two other people there were Samie and Tom.
“I’m in two thoughts right now because I know you don’t want me to get into the drama and I know you don’t want me to get mad but I will.”
Lana told him, ‘Ron, I’m fine with that now, because I’m fuming.’
Clearly stressed, Ron continued, ‘Ugh, I want to be cool, I want to be cool, but this is something I don’t think I can be cool about.’
