Fans of Louisiana State University’s national championship-winning baseball team certainly have interesting ways to celebrate the achievement.
Nick Perlin, a reporter at ABC affiliate WBRZ in Baton Rouge, Louisiana interviewed a young fan joining in on the festivities at LSU’s Alex Box Stadium.
But the youngster, 11-year-old Blaysen Zimm, took the opportunity on camera to hook up his mother with the Tigers’ star player, pitcher Paul Skenes.
In a now-viral video, Blaysen stepped to the microphone and said, “Paul Skenes, my mom is single. I need you,” like those who heard him laugh.
Skenes has seen the video — even “licking” it on Twitter — as the clip grew in popularity and popularity.

In a follow-up interview, the reporters met with Blaysen’s mother, Haley Zimm, who said her phone exploded on the ride home from the party.
“Just going through the comments everyone is saying ‘that kid is the GOAT’ and I’m like ‘heck yeah he is,” Haley told WBRZ.
Haley described Blaysen as the quieter of her two children – next to his eight-year-old brother Brody.
Blaysen said he’s seen his face all over social media apps like TikTok – with the 11-year-old saying, “It’s not normal.”
But Blaysen said he had no intention of going viral at all, saying he’s “just looking out for my mum.”
“I want her to be taken care of and I love her,” Blaysen added.
As for Haley, she says she hadn’t considered dating the 21-year-old California pitcher in the past, but says she’s interested in the idea.
Skenes won the Most Outstanding Player award as LSU won the College World Series this year
Blaysen and several of his Louisiana Pride baseball teammates are hoping that Skenes and several LSU players will show up at one of their practices.
Skenes won the Most Outstanding Player award at this year’s Men’s College World Series in fifth-seeded LSU upset against second-seeded SEC rival Florida.
It is the Tigers’ seventh national baseball title and their first since 2009.
Skenes is projected by MLB.com as the No. 1 prospect ahead of the 2023 MLB Draft which takes place on July 9. The top pick in that draft is in the hands of the Pittsburgh Pirates.
