Louise Thompson is mum-shamed as neither she nor her baby son Leo wear helmets on ‘dangerous’ bike ride during which she cycles one-handed

Louise Thompson is embarrassed because neither she nor her son Leo wears a helmet on ‘dangerous’ bike rides where she rides with one hand

Louise Thompson is mom-shamed over a video she posted on Instagram.

In the clip, neither the Made In Chelsea star, 33, nor her son Leo, 21 months, wore a helmet during a “dangerous” bike ride that involved riding one-handed.

With her infant son strapped to the front of her bike, Louise was filmed by her fiancé Ryan Libbey, 33, happily cycling down a country lane, swaying back and forth.

While encouraging her son to wave to Ryan by doing so herself, Louise was left with only one hand while cycling.

A short time later, a child’s mother did the same thing again, when she petted Leo on the head, resulting in her dodging into the grass verge and laughing as she regained control.

Helmets? But some of her 1.4 million followers thought it was a problem that neither Louise nor her young son wore helmets

Louise wrote alongside the video, “What are you thankful for today? Me: THIS. First time cycling with Leo and his face has me in stitches.

“I don’t know why, but the combination of spiky hair and Cheshire Cat grin gives me big Sherman from American Pie vibes”

But some of her 1.4 million followers thought it was a problem that neither Louise nor her young son wore helmets.

A child health care assistant commented, “Please wear a helmet, if not put one on Leo, as a pediatric HCA I’ve seen the damage not wearing it can do.”

Louise replied, ‘Oh god yes!! We literally made a loop on a tiny track to try it out for less than 1 minute with no cars or obstacles, but I of all people should know that anything is possible (as much as I try not to spend my whole life in total debilitating fear /paranoia).

‘I don’t have a bike at home in London because it’s been stolen, but I’ll order one for Leo for his little balance bike. ❤️.’

But her explanation wasn’t enough for many, one person added: “It’s irrelevant that it’s a short drive. The child must be protected with a helmet. It only takes a second to fall off a bike and cause a head injury.

Yuck! Louise’s explanation was not enough for many who were shocked by the lack of security

‘Sorry but this is simple, no excuses she’s ‘learning to age’ etc. It is the absolute minimum requirement to adequately protect your child.’

Another wrote: ‘So unbelievably dangerous! As a paramedic, I find it very sad that as a ‘public’ figure you don’t wear one and also don’t allow your child to wear one.’

The straps too!!! OMG! Leo is also NOT properly tied up! Please take care Louise, there is probably no greater trauma than losing a child. Why is Ryan smiling?’ someone else asked.
