It comes after Louise revealed her ex-husband Jamie’s sweet words to their eldest son Charley about her career to encourage him to follow his own dreams.
The star has been open about how much she “misses” her son Charley, 18, since moving to the United States to attend college in Arizona.
And speaking to her friend Kate Thornton on the White wine question time podcastLouise shared the supportive words her ex Jamie, 49, told their son about his move.
She said Jamie, with whom she also shares her son Beau, aged 14, told Charley that at his age, Louise was not living at home to pursue her singing career, as he offered his words of encouragement.
Louise, who divorced Jamie in 2017, also admitted that while she misses her son, she is “so proud” of him for following his dreams, as she did when she was younger.
She gushed, “I was just so proud of him for wanting to do it. I understood because as a young girl I wanted to follow my dreams.’
‘I did it, I worked. And that’s what Jamie always said to him. “Mommy did it at this age”. He did it at his age too.
“I was in Eternal. Even though he was young, we just had to keep reminding ourselves that we were doing it at that age too.
“By the time I was 19 I was fully immersed in Eternal, away from home for months, going to America and living on my own. I wasn’t at Uni, I was in America recording and living in a hotel.
“We kind of had to keep telling ourselves that we actually did it at this age. All I said to Charley was, “This is a huge opportunity for you and I want you to get out there and enjoy every moment, but I want you to know that you can always come home and there’s no shame in that.” .

‘But he loves it. Hearing him so happy makes me really happy. There’s a time in your life as a mother, you become completely selfless where their happiness takes priority from the moment they’re born.’
Louise previously told Hello! that it was Jamie who first suggested Charley study in America and said she fully supported his decision.
She said: ‘His dad was the one who suggested it and thought it would be a good idea for him, so I thought, ‘Well, I’m not going to say no’.
“If that’s what he wants to do, then I’m behind whatever he wants to do. It was more of a surprise to me that he was going to do that.’
