Louis Theroux describes friendship with Jennifer Aniston, his cousin Justin’s ex-wife, as he reveals she is the most “high wattage celeb” in his phone book
Louis Theroux has revealed that the biggest celebrity in his phone book is A-lister Jennifer Aniston when questioned about his Hollywood contacts.
The Friends actress, 54, was married to Louis’ cousin Justin Theroux for three years between 2015 and 2017, after they started dating in 2011.
It’s likely that Louis and Jennifer crossed paths or met on the celebrity circuit during this period, but Louis didn’t go into detail about their first meeting.
Louis’s friendship with Jennifer started when the documentary maker was asked who was in his phone book British Vogue.
He said, “Jennifer Anniston is probably the most high-wattage celebrity type. I am a very prestigious international documentary filmmaker.

“That’s not what I am, but what I’m trying to tell you is that I’m a normal person, I’m just like you. I put on my pants one by one and a lot of these people aren’t even that famous.’
Justin recently opened up about his ex-wife Jennifer in a revealing interview with Esquire.
The actor, 51, – who was recently spotted having dinner with her, where he placed a rose in her hand – spoke of the challenges of being in a “public relationship.”
He said, “I want all my relationships to exist within the four walls of whatever room we are in.” And I’m not trying to be evasive, but I’m talking to Jen – I’m not talking about Jen.
“People will always want to gossip and say things, but you have to find that balance. And if you’ve had a public relationship, it’s much nicer not to have a public relationship.’
He added, “If I said something, even if it was something loving, it would just turn into something.”
The couple’s short-lived marriage lasted just two years – they married in 2015 before splitting as friends in 2017.
Justin and the Murder Mystery star have been very close since their divorce, occasionally celebrating birthdays and holidays together.

Speaking to Esquire in 2021, Theroux said, “We don’t talk every day, but we call each other. We FaceTime. We text. Like it or not, we haven’t had that dramatic breakup and we love each other.”
Elsewhere during his conversation with Vogue, Louis opened up about his family life with his three sons, Frederick, Walter and Albert.
He said: ‘I have three boys and the 15-year-old was a little embarrassed because he said it’s a trendy brand and that’s why I probably shouldn’t wear it. Still, that won’t stop me.
He also elaborated on their shared interests, saying, “When you’re a father of three boys, I think it’s almost part of the job description to take an interest in football. It would be biased to assume that no British Vogue reader and consumer would be interested in some kind of squalid West London football club.
“And so I assume you care a lot about the hoops and their fortunes and the fact that we’ve stayed in the championship this season.”
