Los Angeles Nike store robbed as shoplifters invaded Topanga Nordstrom AGAIN
A Nike store in Los Angeles was raided by a gang of thieves who packed merchandise into garbage bags and left just days after an area of Nordstrom was similarly attacked.
Video posted to the Citizen App on Sunday shows the shocking robbery at the crowded Nike Community Store on Whittier Blvd. in East Los Angeles.
The robbery took place on Saturday evening and involved two women and a man grabbing shoeboxes before leaving the store.
The incident is just the latest in a series of similar events that saw a group of thieves loot a store, overwhelm employees and get away with thousands.
Around the same time on Saturday, a mob hit the Topanga Westfield Nordstrom, vandalizing and looting some $100,000 from suitcases near the store entrance.
The Nordstrom robbery was the second of its kind in a week.

According to Los Angeles Police Department officials, the robbery occurred just after 5:30 p.m. in the 4500 block of Whittier Blvd.
In the video, a male suspect can be seen dropping his bag of shoeboxes and trying to clean it up as his conspirators continue.
Other guests walk through the store undisturbed while the man clears away the disassembled shoes and then leaves the store.
Two women can be seen in similar situations, walking with garbage bags full of clothes and shoes and leading the man out of the store.
In the latest incident, the group got away with about $1,000 worth of merchandise.
It is unclear whether the group fled on foot or whether a getaway car was waiting in front of the store.
On Monday morning, police said all three suspects are still at large.
These kinds of robberies seem to be on the rise and are all too common, especially in the Los Angeles area.
In another recent incident, a group of about 20 to 50 suspects struck a Nordstrom northwest of La La Land and swarmed the site.
According to Los Angeles Police Department officials, the robbery occurred just after 5:30 p.m. in the 4500 block of Whittier Blvd.
Footage shot at the store shows men in dark hoodies and face masks looting the department store in Westfield Topanga Mall, even resorting to attacking security guards with bear spray.
Videos quickly circulated on social media showing the mob smashing display cases and stealing high-end designer accessories, some of which are still attached with electronic security tags.
One of the thieves was even seen pulling a large metal display shelf behind him as he fled, with a luxury leather bag still attached with a security tag.
The group sprinted to the door in an effort to quickly exit the store and secure as much merchandise as possible.
The thieves made off with thousands of dollars worth of luxury handbags and designer clothes, an LAPD spokesman told NBC News.
The group swarmed the store around 4 p.m. on Saturday, picking up armfuls of items, some of which fell unintentionally in the chaos, as they maneuvered around broken glass and overturned mannequins.

The men appeared to be targeting luxury Italian fashion brand Bottega Veneta, known for its signature woven leather handbags.
Investigators believe the group stole $100,000 worth of merchandise.
The criminals used bear spray to attack at least two security guards in the store. The severity of their injuries is unclear.
Bear spray, which comes from pressurized canisters, contains capsaicin and other ingredients that can inflame the eyes and upper respiratory tract.
Store visitors were not evacuated and it is unclear if anyone was injured. No arrests have been reported at this time. The police are looking for 30 to 50 suspects.
Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass responded to the incident in a statement Saturday night: “What happened today at the Nordstrom in the Topanga Mall is absolutely unacceptable,” she wrote.
In the statement, Bass assured the public that police will find those responsible.
