Beloved Los Angeles grandma met horrific end in freak accident after someone else’s suicide attempt went horribly wrong

A grandmother was killed when a suicidal man jumped from a highway overpass and drove through her windshield.

Margarita Novela Galindo was in the passenger seat as her husband Florencio drove them along the 210 Freeway in Sylmar, Los Angeles on August 9.

Bystanders called police at 7:17 p.m. to report that he threatened to jump from the Roxford overpass, but fell over the edge before police could arrive.

The man drove so hard into the Galindo family’s car that he went through the windshield, hitting Margarita as she sat in her seat.

The man was taken to hospital in critical condition. The Los Angeles Fire Department said it did not know if he survived.

According to the LAFD incident report, Margarita’s injuries were initially thought to be non-life-threatening, but later turned out to be much more serious.

‘Tragically, my mother passed away, leaving behind me, my brother, my sister and her seven grandchildren. My father is now alone without the love of his life.

“It is incredibly unfair that her life was taken because someone else didn’t want it to be.

“My mother was a loving and caring woman. Our family is grieving and struggling with this unimaginable loss.”

Florencio, incredibly, forgave the man who jumped, even though his desire to end his life resulted in her death.

“He doesn’t know what problems he had to commit suicide, but he doesn’t feel any resentment,” he said ABC7 in Spanish
