Los Angeles Dodgers World Series hero Teoscar Hernandez agrees $66million deal to return to champions
Teoscar Hernandez returns to the Los Angeles Dodgers after a triumphant freshman season after the All-Star outfielder and the World Series champion agreed to a three-year, $66 million contract.
Hernandez, 32, posted “I’m back” on his Instagram account, although the ball club has not confirmed the messages.
The deal includes a $15 million club option for the 2028 season with a $6.5 million buyout, $23.5 million in deferred money and a $23 million signing bonus, ESPN reported.
Hernandez had signed with the Dodgers as a free agent on January 12, reportedly turning down multi-year offers for a one-year, $23.5 million contract with $8.5 million deferred.
The risk paid off as the Dominican Republic native was a key contributor to the Dodgers’ regular season and playoffs.
He hit .250 with three home runs, 12 RBIs and 10 walks, reaching base safely in 15 of 16 postseason games.
