‘I’m doing my physio and I’m fine!’ Lorraine Kelly Reveals She Had Minimally Invasive Shoulder Surgery Over the Holidays

Lorraine Kelly revealed that she underwent minimally invasive surgery on her shoulder over the festive period on Tuesday.

The presenter, 63, admitted she had a “really quiet” Christmas and New Year while recovering from the procedure, but insisted she was “okay”.

Returning to the ITV show after his break, he said: “I had the quietest ever, as I had a small operation on my shoulder, it’s been bothering me for a long time.”

Lorraine continued: ‘Thank you Professor Levy and his brilliant team because oh my gosh minimally invasive surgery is amazing.

‘I just had to remove a bit of calcification and a bit of bone and, yeah, I’m doing my physio and I’m fine. But we had a very quiet time over Christmas and New Years.

The television personality admitted that she is “getting there” with her exercises while showing a snapshot of herself sporting a prosthetic arm.

Asked by Dr. Hilary Jones if she’d had a little to drink “for the pain,” Lorraine confessed, “Yeah, you said it was okay to have one or two.”

“Actually I’ve been very, very good and I’m good and I’m doing a lot of different exercises, I’m getting there.” How amazing is minimally invasive surgery? It’s extraordinary.

Lorraine also thanked her husband Steve Smith and their daughter Rosie Smith, 28, for taking care of her.

She said, “Rosie and Steve looked after me and Rosie obviously looks like me in the cooking department, no.”

It comes after Lorraine said she’s grateful she doesn’t feel the “pressure” to see relatives over the festive period.

The presenter revealed that her Christmas was “reasonably uneventful” after she and her husband Steve saw loved ones last month while celebrating their wedding anniversary.

Lorraine admitted that she “isn’t worried about making time” to see relatives between Christmas and New Years as they normally would.

Relaxing: It comes after Lorraine said she’s grateful she doesn’t feel the ‘pressure’ of seeing her relatives over the festive period.

She said ahead of the festive season: ‘Christmas will be reasonably quiet. [Our daughter] Rosie threw us a surprise anniversary party last month with all our friends and family, so luckily we don’t have the pressure to see everyone.

“We will continue to do Zoom calls with the family.”

This Christmas, Lorraine’s husband was taking over the kitchen because he “cooks so much better,” so he planned to clean up afterwards.

Before December 25 he said: ‘We’ll have dinner later than usual as Rosie will be working until 3pm, Steve is a much better cook so he’ll take care of everything.
