Lorraine Kelly baffles viewers as she is missing from her chat show only to appear on This Morning – which is filmed in the same building

Lorraine Kelly stunned viewers on Thursday when she was missing from her own show but later appeared on This Morning.

The Scottish broadcaster, 64, is currently on leave from her six-month duties. Her show is hosted by Ranvir Singh today.

But despite being absent from her title show, Lorraine then made a guest appearance on This Morning, leaving fans reeling.

Lorraine presents her show from Monday to Thursday every week, as she has stopped working on Fridays from the start of this year and is taking the school holidays off – and then Ranvir or Christine Lampard comes in to replace her.

And Lorraine’s appearance on her show has piqued viewers’ interest, with an account on X, formerly Twitter, set up to follow her performances.

Called Where Is Lorraine?, with the handle @LorraineKWatch, the account informs followers whether or not the Scottish star has hosted the show that day.

On Thursday morning the account read: ‘Lorraine Kelly did not host her own show with Ranvir Singh this morning. Lorraine has hosted 24 of the 33 episodes (72.7%) this year, Ranvir has hosted five and Christine Lampard has hosted four. .’

And just two hours later, the account revealed a shocking twist: “BONUS LORRAINE (horn emoji).

‘After not appearing on her own show for five consecutive episodes, Lorraine Kelly is today a guest on #ThisMorning, which is filmed in the same building as #Lorraine.’

Many viewers were left unimpressed by seeing Lorraine on This Morning, despite her absence from her own show.

“LORRAINE KELLY DIDN’T EVEN HAVE HER OWN SHOW THIS MORNING AND SHE APPEARED THIS MORNING?!” one person raged. ‘IT’S THE SAME BL***Y STUDIO BUILDING SINCE THEY LITERALLY CAN’T BE ATTENDED TO BE ON SET.’

Another wrote: ‘Lorraine being on this morning but not presenting her show today is devastating to me.’

While another said: ‘How come Lorraine Kelly failed to do her own show today but appeared on This Morning which airs in the same building?’

Another viewer raved to followers about her look, writing: ‘ @LorraineK WATCH SHE LIVE THIS MORNING FROM THE SAME ITV BUILDING AS HER OWN SHOW.’

“Ranvir left the Lorraine studio to check on Lorraine and see Lorraine sitting on the couch this morning,” said another, referring to her stand-in host.

The controversy surrounding her hosting comes weeks after Lorraine was unmasked as Owl on Masked Singer UK – where she also appeared as a guest judge.

The moment left viewers and judges stunned as the broadcaster removed her enormous mask to wild applause from the studio audience.

Rita Ora, Mo Gilligan, Jonathan Ross and Davina McCall were joined by Ellie Goulding on the panel, but no one could guess that it was in fact Lorraine strutting her stuff on stage.

While host Joel Dommet exclaimed: ‘This might be one of the best reveals we’ve ever had on the show!’.

Unable to wipe the big smile off her face, Lorraine said: “I loved being Owl, I loved every second of it, the show is so joyful.”

Lorraine later admitted she was shocked the panel didn’t notice his Scottish accent.

Saying: ‘I worked really hard to try not to be too Scottish, but I thought they were going to get me straight away, and I thought it was hilarious who they said’.

‘It was very funny. I was very happy they didn’t catch me.”

She also revealed that her family would be shocked by the news after keeping her appearance on the show a secret.

“My daughter just doesn’t want to believe it because she always teases me that when we sing along in the car, I’m just making up the words to songs.”
