Lorde shares rare bikini selfie as she returns to New Zealand for Christmas holidays – after deleting all her social media posts

Lorde updated her social media with one post after deleting everything from the account.

The 27-year-old singer shared a rare bikini selfie while sitting in a Toyota car during a visit to New Zealand on Monday.

One photo shows Lorde behind the wheel of the vehicle while wearing a red and white strapless graphic swimwear top.

She added white jeans, a cap with text on the front and sunglasses.

A second photo showed Lorde riding in a helicopter, again in the sunshine, with a beautiful view outside the window.

In her caption, the Royals hitmaker simply added an emoji depicting sunglasses and a tree.

Last month, Lorde sparked concern after she shared a series of photos on Instagram showing a black eye.

The star, who mysteriously deleted all her social media posts earlier this year, did not provide any explanation for the injuries, leaving fans speculating about what may have happened.

While many accepted the comments expressing their concerns and sending well wishes, others wondered if the post might be related to an upcoming project or post.

“Lord, are you okay?” one follower asked, while another commented, “This new album is going to break the internet.”

Her cryptic caption only added to the confusion among her legion of fans, as she wrote: ‘DYHTS? ©ĿŁု⑷♶⚤’, leaving many confused by the strange symbols and unclear message.

‘And what does the caption mean?? this is so weird,” wrote one Reddit user. “I hope she accidentally bumped her face into something, but I can recognize the male-female pairing symbol in her caption, which means ‘woman and man together,’ right?” I don’t know what the rest means, so strange…’

Another fan said: ‘Girl you are so confusing.’

The Royals hitmaker shared several close-ups of her bruised face, followed by a photo of herself smiling and about to dig into a banana split, with the injury still clearly visible.

She also posted a photo of a ProHealth Advanced Imaging drive, along with a snapshot of a hat that read, “Do you have the stones?”

One fan seemed impressed by the mysterious message, saying: ‘Excellent way to get back into social media. Lead with the black eye and the enigmatic baseball cap. I like it, Lorde, I like it. Keep these people on their toes.’

On August 13, Lorde wiped her social media, with fans speculating that the move signals new music is on the way.

Fellow pop star Taylor Swift has used a similar tactic when teasing new album releases, and recently Lorde has also embraced a more cryptic approach in her posts.

In June, the singer uploaded a series of puzzling photos that appeared to tease new music.

One photo showed her in a long black dress, gazing over a balcony, while another captured the moment she spat over the edge.

To add to the intrigue, she shared a close-up of her hand holding a tablet with the word ‘spit’ written on it.

She wrote a short message saying, “Use existing tools wherever possible. If the tools don’t exist, you are spiritually obligated to create them.”

Fans were quick to speculate that her post could be a teaser for new music on the horizon.

‘So the first single is called spit?’ one person wondered.

“LORDE WHAT IS THIS please release an album,” another excited fan wrote while a third person commented: “Lorde’s new album coming soon!”

The post was the only one on Lorde’s Instagram page at the time.

The Grammy Award-winning songwriter debuted two new songs during her set at England’s Boardmasters Festival last year.

According to Vulturethe hitmaker played a pair of songs reportedly titled Silver Moon and Invisible Ink, although she later denied these were the final names.

Although many fans suspected that Lorde was planning to release a new album, she took to her Instagram account at the time to reveal that she did not have a major project in the works.

She wrote, “This isn’t the start of anything out there, I just want you to know there’s a light burning inside me.”

When another fan commented that the hitmaker was trying to mislead her fanbase, she doubled down on her original denial.

“I’m serious, I literally decided to take these off my laptop…but they’re not bad are they,” she wrote.

Lorde’s most recently released album Solar Power debuted in August 2021.
