Loose Women descends into chaos as Brenda Edwards and Judi Love are left in tears after being surprised by their loved-ones before Nadia Sawalha swears live on air

Wednesday’s Loose Women was thrown into chaos as several presenters broke down in tears after a series of surprises.

The ITV daytime show celebrated the 40th anniversary of Cilla Black’s hit series Surprise Surprise, which first aired in May 1984.

In honor of this, host Christine Lampard revealed throughout the episode that a former Loose Women star would surprise everyone on air with some news.

Andrea McLean – who presented from 2007 to 2020 – was then revealed as the surprise as she opened up about how she was returning to the show for its upcoming 25th anniversary.

Before there were big surprises that day for everyone else on the panel: Brenda Edwards, Judi Love and Nadia Sawalha.

First, Brenda, 55, was surprised by her daughter Tanisha, live on air.

Brenda became very emotional and burst into tears when Tanisha praised her as an ‘amazing’ and ‘inspiring’ mother.

She added kindly, “She’s literally the best mom!” before jokingly adding, “Don’t cry!” while Brenda was left sobbing.

Then Judi, 43, was surprised when her best friend Francesca appeared on the show via video – which also made her cry.

She told Judi, “I’m so proud of you. I want to remind you that your mother and your father are certainly looking over you, beaming with joy and pride, especially because you are an amazing mother. I love you, see you soon and take care.’

Finally, Nadia was surprised when her friendship group entered the studio – leaving her in tears too – before accidentally dropping a swear word live.

Explaining how the friends met, Nadia revealed her nickname for one of her friends, saying: “It’s so weird that you keep calling her Helen because we only call her t**s!”

Shocked, her friends added, “You can’t say that, you’re going to get in trouble!”

It comes after Loose Women were thrown into chaos again last week when the panel decided to squeeze Nadia into very tight skinny jeans.

After hearing that the once-much-loved ’90s favorite had been spotted on the autumn/winter 2024 catwalks, the presenter was challenged to give them a try.

Armed with a coat hanger, Jane Moore, 61, rolled up her sleeves while Nadia, 59, lay on the floor and tried to pull them up.

After stripping down to her underwear in front of the crowd, Kaye Adams, 61, joked that she should have worn a G-string to complete her ’90s look.

Dame Kelly Holmes screamed with laughter as the panel gathered around Nadia to hoist her into the jeans.

After Jane finally managed to close the button with her hanger, Nadia waddled back to her seat.

“Is the show done yet?” she joked before complaining that it didn’t look very appealing.

Last month, Nadia was rushed to hospital after noticing worrying symptoms – minutes before appearing live on Loose Women.

The presenter’s reveal of her latest appearance on the daytime program caused her to ‘freak out’ when she discovered something unusual with her eye.

The panelist explained that her optician urged her to go straight to hospital after a frightening few hours, but claimed she finally had a diagnosis.

“I did the morning meeting and called the optician and said I have this, this, this and they said leave now and go straight to the emergency room,” she explained on Friday’s show.

‘It was really dramatic, I was really panicking because I thought I was just going to go after the show.

“And then Gloria came in, because I was supposed to leave the show and it was never three.”

“And then Gloria came on the phone and she said she had an eye surgeon who is a good friend. Anyway, she called me with a top eye surgeon who asked me more questions. He said it’s okay, you can do the show, but you have to come to the emergency room right afterward.”

Afterwards, the writer went to the emergency room and now has an answer to her health problems, confirming that she is being well taken care of.

“The bottom line is that I have an aging eye. They’re both getting older, the jelly is coming off. I have microscopic bleeding. I know it’s microscopic, but I don’t want any bleeding.’

She added: ‘It’s worrying. It will be fine, I have had very good care. It’s amazing, the eye no longer sees what it doesn’t want to see and that will just disappear and the spots will hopefully disappear.’
