Channel 10’s Narelda Jacobs has officially announced that she is taking an extended break from her on-air duties until the new year.
The 47-year-old said she is saying goodbye to the network, including her role as co-host of Studio 10 and host of the network’s 10 News First: Midday.
She is also saying goodbye to her role in NITV’s The Point.
Narelda said the hiatus, which begins Tuesday, would be her first extended vacation since she started at the network more than two decades ago.
Narelda posted on Instagram on Tuesday a short video of herself walking to work while announcing her long-term leave.

She told fans and followers that she will be back on air next Wednesday for Studio 10’s special 10th anniversary show.
“I have been working towards this moment of long service leave,” she said Tuesday morning Television tonight.
‘I have been working at the network for 23 years and take a day off here and there. I’m going to take a big piece.
‘I’m not disappearing. I stop by every now and then and will be back next Wednesday for our 10th anniversary show.

‘But yeah, just take a break. So next year I will be present again at Studio 10 and Midday (news).’
Narelda, who is currently dating political staffer Karina Natt, has not revealed any details about how she plans to spend her free time.
The proud indigenous woman previously had a long-term relationship with filmmaker Stevie Cruz-Martin.
She debuted her romance with Karina in an Instagram post in March, sharing a photo of the two women kissing during Sydney World Pride celebrations.
Jacobs told The Australian in 2021 that she grew up being told it was wrong to be gay and that she would go to hell because of her sexuality.
She also said she wanted her daughter Jade Dolman to have a more tolerant and accepting childhood than she did.
