A Long Island Rail Road train derailed Thursday in Queens, injuring at least a dozen people and causing chaos among commuters.
The 10:43 a.m. train was en route from Grand Central to Hempstead when it derailed east of Jamaica in Queens at 11:15 a.m.
The cause of the derailment is still unknown. Thirteen people were injured, but all are stable and are expected to make a full recovery.

According to the FDNY, a dozen people required medical treatment.
All passengers of the derailed train were evacuated onto another and taken to Jamaica.
“I was informed of the train derailment on the Long Island Rail Road at Jamaica Station this morning.
State personnel, including MTA officials, are currently on the scene assisting with emergency response and response to injuries.
“Our top priority is to ensure that all passengers and rail personnel are safe and that train service resumes as soon as possible,” Governor Kathy Hochul said in a statement.
