Logies 2023: Presenter Sam Pang mocks Amy Shark’s song choice as viewers criticize her ‘terrible’ performance – just before the singer won most popular new talent
Sam Pang took a brutal swipe at Amy Shark at the Logie Awards at Sydney’s The Star on Sunday night.
The Australian comedian, 49, took the stage right after the singer, 37, released her new hit Can I Shower At Yours? and took a look at her choice of songs.
Meanwhile, viewers took to social media to label Amy as “terrible” and “talentless.”
Sam rushed onto the stage as Amy walked off after her performance, waving gleefully to the audience who gave her a round of applause.
“Ladies and gentlemen, the wonderful Amy Shark!” he began, letting the applause die down.

He cheekily added, “I wouldn’t have done anything off the new album, but that’s fine. Well done, Amy.’
Amy’s reaction to the underhanded swipe was not shown as some in the audience laughed nervously.
Despite Sam’s distaste for Amy’s music, the Australian Idol jury won the Graham Kennedy Award for Most Popular New Talent.

While presenting Night of Nights on television, the radio host said Amy shouldn’t have played any of her new music, which viewers decried as “awful” and “talentless.”
She beat the category, competing against Ayesha Madon, Chloe Hayden, Flex Mami, Kween Kong and Lilliana Bowrey.
However, it seemed like Amy couldn’t catch a break as she was later slammed on Twitter for her “hopeless” and “talentless” performance at the Logie Awards.
“Todd McKenney’s performance is still better than Amy Shark’s,” one person wrote, referring to the Dancing With The Stars judge who recently landed a role on the ABC drama Significant Others.

Another tweeted, “When did Amy Shark start including white girls dancing in her performances?”
“Restored my Twitter or whatever it’s called to say how the F Amy Shark won that? She is absolutely hopeless if we are to judge by that last performance,” a third added.
Someone else wrote, “It’s kind of ironic that someone as talentless as Amy Shark won Best New Talent.” Her performance was terrible too.’
Amy won the award for her role as a judge on the Australian Idol reboot alongside Kyle Sandilands, Harry Connick Jr. and Megan Trainor.
