Logan Roy vs Boris: Succession star Brian Cox brands Donald Trump a ‘monster’ before arguing with former prime minister over ex-US president

Legendary actor Brian Cox has branded Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump a ‘monster’ in an excoriating interview.

Cox, who famously played Logan Roy in the hit HBO show Succession, told Channel 4’s US election coverage when asked how he felt about the upcoming results of the race that he was a ‘crazy… lunatic’ . [and] wants to become a dictator.’

He also got into a verbal spat with former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson over Trump’s rhetoric and whether he would follow through on the promises he made.

“It’s the most crucial election… in my lifetime, and we have to take care of that [Donald Trump] doesn’t get in because he’s a monster. He really is,” Cox said.

‘He’s crazy, he’s insane, he wants to be a dictator. It’s all been so obvious that I don’t know why the American people aren’t listening. Some of the American people are, but a large portion of the American people are not.

“The kind of nonsense he’s talking… I think he’s lost it. He is very mentally unstable, and I think he has been for a while. This is not a man who should be president of the United States.

He also got into a verbal spat with former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson over Trump’s rhetoric and whether he would follow through on the promises he made.

“He’s untrustworthy, he’s a convicted felon, I’m shocked. I am a lapsed Catholic and I read today that he has enormous support among Catholic voters. I think extraordinary Catholic voters would vote for such a man who is… a great sinner.”

“I find it all depressing and strangely ridiculous.”

When asked how much of Trump’s fiery rhetoric would become reality, he chuckled as he said, “He will do whatever suits Donald Trump.” He’s not interested in… making America great again.

‘The man is completely selfish, he is only interested in one thing, and that is Donald Trump.

“He doesn’t care about America. He really doesn’t do that.’

Cox then fell out with former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who claimed that Trump’s views on Ukraine and its President Volodymyr Zelensky would change if he entered the Oval Office.

Johnson said he disagreed with Cox over Trump’s response to the war in Ukraine and Russia if he were elected president.

“I think he will get to that point and he will see that if he surrenders, if he lets (Vladimir) Putin win – it’s a disaster because of his pride, because of his ego – it’s a disaster for America, it’s a disaster for the US. world,” Mr Johnson said.

“You can say I’m wrong and that I’m starry-eyed, but it’s not going to work that way, and he will find a way to surrender to Putin that will somehow protect his reputation and his legacy .

‘I don’t understand how you do that; to be honest, it’s a pretty unpolished turd.”

The Succession star said: ‘I’m not buying it. I don’t buy any of it, and… it’s very difficult for Boris to talk about.

“We witnessed throughout his last term just how much he was in Putin’s pocket.”

‘He’s crazy, he’s insane, he wants to be a dictator. “It’s all been so clear, I don’t know why the American people aren’t listening,” Cox said

“He doesn’t care about America. He really doesn’t,” Cox said of Trump

Johnson later said that as a British Conservative politician, he disagreed with Trump’s stance on women’s reproductive health, gun control and tariffs.

“I’m not here to stand up for any particular presidential candidate,” the 60-year-old said.

He continued: ‘I think if you look at what Donald Trump has actually done in terms of foreign policy during his time in office, and that’s obviously what I care about primarily as a former British Prime Minister – from the Abraham Accords to Ukraine to Iran – you can make a very strong case that he has brought peace and relative stability and I think that is a very, very important consideration.”

Cox concluded by saying that he would never play Mr. Trump in a movie or TV series because “it’s a terribly bad role, no one would want to play Donald Trump because it’s such a horrible role… how do you find a redeeming quality in man? ‘.

Their comments came after Stormy Daniels, the woman at the center of Trump’s hush-money lawsuit following an affair, asked Mr Johnson: “Would you leave your daughter alone with Donald Trump?” after Mr Johnson described their friendship.

“I don’t see why not… yes,” Mr Johnson said, before describing his experience with Mr Trump as “polite” and “polite”.

During Channel 4’s reporting, Stormy Daniels, the adult film star who accused Donald Trump of paying her to stop her from revealing their flirtatious behavior, admitted she has been living in a camper van since July out of fear for her safety.

Daniels, the 45-year-old adult film star, told Channel 4’s special US election program about her concerns about how Trump’s supporters have behaved since she became publicly linked to the former president.

She also publicly clashed with former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, harassing him over his relationship with the Republican presidential candidate.

‘It was scary at first, then it became quiet for a while. It picked up a bit again during these elections.

‘The biggest difference between this time and the first time is that people don’t hide. Some of that has to do with January 6 at the Capitol.

‘[Trump supporters] no longer hide. They use their real screen names, they use their real phone numbers.

“The threats are more explicit and targeted, and as we all know when I testified in May, Trump’s lawyers ‘accidentally’ posted a document on the courtroom screen that had nothing to do with the case we were trying that day. with my unregistered home address.

“So I haven’t been home since July, I’ve been living in an RV and traveling.”

Daniels was referring to the leak of her home address earlier this year.

She said at the time that “it has become unsafe for her family and her pets,” including her horses, which were shot twice.

When asked if she feared a Trump victory or loss, she said, “To be completely honest, I don’t know.

“He has made it very clear that he intends to go after everyone who opposed him and those who helped him.”

Daniels also claimed that Trump supporters filed bomb threats on live comedy shows she hosted.

She pointedly asked him, “If you were Prime Minister and you and Donald Trump had a disagreement, as people do with Donald Trump, would you have any fear of the ladies in his life?”

Johnson said: “Nothing like that has come up. When you talk to the American President, the relationship you have as British Prime Minister is one of great formality and importance.”

‘Trump supporters called en masse and threatened club owners [with] burn down the clubs.’

She later argued with former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson about Trump’s character, pointedly asking him: “If you were Prime Minister and you and Donald Trump had a disagreement, as people do with Donald Trump, would you have any fear of the ladies in the US? his life?’

Johnson said: “Nothing like that has come up. When you talk to the American president, the relationship you have as British prime minister is one of great formality and importance.

‘Of course you develop a friendship, but actually, and I can say this with all sincerity, in my time with him I have never been treated with anything other than courtesy and kindness.’

In a conversation with Daniels, he said, “Now you had a completely different experience, but I can only talk about mine.”
