Logan Paul offers to fight his brother Jake after Mike Tyson showdown is postponed… with the younger sibling suggesting comical punishment for the loser

After the boxing match between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul, originally scheduled to take place on July 20, has now been postponed, Jake’s older brother Logan has offered to intervene.

Logan Paul, the WWE superstar and former celebrity boxer, has offered to step into the ring with his younger brother after Tyson was forced to withdraw due to health concerns.

Logan did the challenge on Twitter, posting a photo of them when they were much younger, with the caption: “So Mike Tyson is out? I’ll step in and we can settle this once and for all @jakepaul’.

Jake seemed excited about the idea and replied, “My mom doesn’t want me to KO you, but fuck it.”

He also proposed an interesting punishment for the one who is defeated in battle: “Loser must change his surname.”

Logan Paul (L) has offered to replace Mike Tyson and fight his brother Jake Paul (R).

The decision to postpone the Jake vs. Tyson fight came via a statement from Most Valuable Promotions, which said the fight will be rescheduled for a later date.

The statement read: ‘The upcoming highly anticipated boxing match between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson will unfortunately be postponed.

‘During a follow-up consultation on Thursday with medical professionals regarding his recent flare-up of a stomach ulcer, Mike Tyson is recommended to exercise minimally to lightly for the next few weeks and then return to full training without restrictions.

“Both Mike and Jake agree that it is only fair to ensure that both athletes receive equal training time to prepare for this important competition and compete at the highest level.

“The health and well-being of athletes is our top priority, and we fully support Mike in taking the necessary time to ensure he performs at the level he expects of himself.

‘Mike is expected to return to his full training schedule in the coming weeks and is eager to get back in the ring.

“MVP expects to reschedule the match for later this year at AT&T Stadium, and we look forward to an exciting and well-prepared match between these two exceptional athletes. The new date of the fight will be announced next Friday, June 7.”

Tyson said: ‘I would like to thank my fans around the world for their support and understanding during this time.

‘Unfortunately, due to the flare-up of my stomach ulcer, I have been advised by my doctor to lighten up my training for a few weeks so that I can rest and recover.

‘My body is generally in better shape than it has been since the 1990s and I will soon be back on my full training regime. Jake Paul, this may have bought you some time, but in the end you will still be knocked out and out of boxing for good.

“I appreciate everyone’s patience and can’t wait to deliver an unforgettable performance later this year.”

“I fully support postponing the event so that Mike Tyson has no excuses for fight night,” said Jake Paul. “My fans know that I only want to meet Iron Mike at his best, but make no mistake about it: when he steps into the ring with me, I will be ready to claim my W with a sensational finish.

“Paul vs. Tyson will be one for the ages, and I promise to give my best to this unique match.”

According to MVP, tickets for the new date will be honored and anyone who cannot attend will be eligible for a refund.

The fight was highly anticipated as Tyson’s first steps back in the ring since a fight against Roy Jones Jr. in 2020.

The ulcer flare-up in question occurred aboard an American Airlines flight from Miami to LA on Sunday, May 26, forcing flight crews to ask passengers if a doctor was on board to provide assistance.

Tyson said he was “doing great” in recovery, but was clearly not healthy enough to keep fighting. He even joked that he “doesn’t have to be 100 percent” to beat Paul.

But even that mid-air incident isn’t the first time the boxing great has been spotted in poor health in recent years.

Ahead of the fight, the 57-year-old admitted that while his training is going well, his body isn’t what it used to be.

‘I’m beautiful… I’m doing great, but my body is —- right now. I’m in pain,” Tyson said on May 13 in Harlem, New York.

Tyson has previously been open about his struggles with sciatica, which became so bad in August 2022 that he was seen in a wheelchair.

Tyson said at the time: ‘I have sciatica every now and then, it flares up. If it flares up, I can’t even talk! Thank God this is the only health problem I have. I’m great now.’

The fight would also have a co-main event: the rematch between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano. But that also appears to have been postponed due to Tyson’s medical emergency.
