Logan Central, Queensland: Five people fighting for life after horror crash

Five people are left fighting for their lives after a horror crash in Queensland.

A red Ford Falcon collided with a white Toyota Hi-Ace van traveling in the opposite direction on Bardon Road in Logan Central about 11pm on Sunday.

One of the vehicles caught fire and emergency services, including intensive care paramedics, rushed to the scene of the accident south of Brisbane.

Two people were placed in a coma at the scene, while five people were taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital with serious injuries.

Two male patients in their 20s were taken to hospital in critical condition with serious leg, arm and head injuries.

One of the men was initially trapped in one of the vehicles.

A third man in his 20s suffered serious injuries to his face, chest and arms and was taken to hospital in a critical condition.

A 35-year-old female driver of the van was taken to hospital in serious condition with significant pelvic and leg injuries.

The 63-year-old male passenger was taken to hospital in serious condition with significant chest, abdominal and head injuries.

Initial investigations by the Forensic Crash Unit revealed that the Ford Falcon was traveling north along Bardon Road before colliding with the Toyota van traveling in the opposite direction.
