Lloyd's of London extends the lease for its iconic 'inside out' headquarters until 2035

Iconic: the 'inside out' headquarters of Lloyd's of London on One Lime Street

Lloyd's of London has struck a deal with the landlord to remain at its headquarters until at least 2035. This allays fears that the trend towards working from home had put the future of the building in doubt.

The striking 'inside-out' headquarters at One Lime Street, designed by architect Richard Rogers, has been home to the world's largest insurance market since 1986. It is a Grade II listed building, with elevators and pipes running around the outside, and has been owned by Chinese insurance giant Ping An since 2013.

Other financial institutions have cut back on space due to the rise of hybrid working, particularly when HSBC moved from its headquarters in Canary Wharf to a smaller location in the city.
