The 24-year-old singer appeared on X on Wednesday to share the news and ask fans not to “attack” her now ex, who is a photographer.

“Michael and I broke up and it was loving and caring and there is no bad blood between us,” McAlpine – who presented at last year’s Steamy Awards – began the note.

McAlpine then emphasized, “And Michael didn’t do anything wrong, so PLEASE. don’t attack him.

“Nobody needs to say nasty things to him in his DMs. he did nothing wrong. he is a real person with real feelings. thank you,” she concluded.

She shared three images that didn’t show her friend’s face and captioned the post: “Officially launched, a bit soft.”

Then, on February 23, Michael appeared in Lizzy’s Ceilings music video.

In addition to the news of the breakup, Lizzy was also active on her Instagram account on Wednesday.

She shared a single photo of herself with her bandmates Taylor Mackall and Mason Stoops.

Addressing her 791,000 followers, she wrote: “New favorite photo alert.”

The star then added: ‘There are still a few tickets left for Portland & San Fran, get them while they’re hot! see you Saturday in Seattle :’).’
