Lizzo sparks backlash for dressing up as rapper Blueface’s girlfriend Chrisean Rock for Halloween

Lizzo’s Halloween costume has caused a stir this year.

The 34-year-old singer of The Truth Hurts dressed up as Chrisean Rock, the girlfriend of rapper Blueface, and showed off her missing front tooth and her neck tattoo, which Lizzo switched to show her own boyfriend instead.

However, many have objected to the look, arguing that Rock shouldn’t be made into a costume as a woman who appears to be in an unhealthy relationship.

Lizzo showed off her outfit via her Instagram on Friday, sharing two videos and a separate post with photos of her as Chrisean.

She rocked her black locks in a side ponytail for the look, and wore a large diamond necklace that spelled out Yitty, the name of her sportswear brand and her childhood nickname.

The star wore a white T-shirt and jeans and was further adorned with gold heart-shaped earrings.

She also wore Chrisean’s dramatic lashes and lip gloss.

Rock was arrested after punching Blueface in the face at an Arizona bar in August this year, just weeks after the pair engaged in an ugly physical altercation in Hollywood.

In the earlier incident, Blueface hit her on the head, causing her to fall to the floor, and then tore a bleached necklace from her neck.

The two then continued to punch each other in the head and body several times.

The Los Angeles Police Department did not witness the fight, but launched an investigation after the video went viral.

Blueface and Chrisean have been on/off since 2020.

The couple’s rocky relationship will be documented in a new show entitled Crazy in Love, which has also sparked backlash, some calling it exploitative.

Lizzo captioned her first video clip in the costume with “RESPECTFULLY” and seemed to indicate that the look was a tribute.

In the clip, the About Damn singer seems to imitate Time Rock’s viral video, and performing the same exact gestures while listening to the same song.

She also shared another video in the outfit, lip-syncing to Chrisean, saying, “I don’t know who to hit, I don’t know who to hit.”

Lizzo also shared many snaps in the costume as she amused herself at the Houston Funplex.

Her friend Myke Wright was also featured in some of the photos. In an instant, the singer was seen smiling as a man poured her a drink.

There was also an artful black and white photo of her.

Chrisean seemed to have no problem with the videos and even retweeted one of them to her page.

But that wasn’t the end of Lizzo’s costumes for the year.

The singer also debuted on Saturday in a new look, dressed as Marge Simpson from the animated sitcom The Simpsons.

Her skin was dyed bright yellow and she wore a slim-fitting green sequined dress to complete her look.

She also wore Marge’s long blue hair, her red pearl necklace and red heels.
