Liverpool have unveiled their new away kit for the 2023/24 season, inspired by one of the club’s famous shirts from the mid-1990s.

The likes of Mohamed Salah, Darwin Nunez, and Harvey Elliott were among the Reds stars modeling their new “spark and poison” away number for the new season.

The shirt is a modern twist on the Liverpool shirt from the 1995-96 season, with a green and white quarter pattern and a black collar and cuff.

From the retro design, kit manufacturers Nike have updated next season’s strip with a digital effect treatment featuring layered tonal greens – Green Spark, Poison Green and Pine Green.

The kit is completed with black shorts and white socks with black and green trim.

Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson also modeled his new home shirt for the 2023/24 season, featuring a striking black and dark gray design with green detailing on the crest and sponsor. It is combined with matching shorts, black socks with gray trim and green logos.

On the back, all kits feature the 97 decal with eternal flames on the neck in memory of the victims of the Hillsborough disaster.

In the 95-96 campaign, Ian Rush captained the Reds and a young Robbie Fowler went down as their leading scorer.

And Fowler joined the likes of Cody Gakpo and Luis Diaz in posing in the modern design as part of Liverpool’s kit release on Friday. Missy Bo Kearns, Fuka Nagano and Taylor Hinds were among the women’s team players who competed.

‘I have fond memories of the 95/96 season; for the iconic white and green away strip and for scoring my most goals in one season,” said Fowler.

“I’m a big fan of the new, fresh take on the white and green away kit.”

Manager Jurgen Klopp was also seen showing off Liverpool’s new tracksuit for the new season, which continues the green and white theme.

All kits are available to pre-order from the Liverpool online store and the LFC Store app from launch day on 7 July.

The Liverpool men’s team will debut the white and green strip against Leicester on July 30 on their pre-season tour of Singapore. The women’s team will also debut it during their pre-season games in late August.
