Liverpool’s title hopes have taken another blow with Diogo Jota set to miss the next two weeks due to injury.
The Portuguese only made his return last week after being sidelined since February with a knee injury, but is expected to be sidelined until May.
‘Unfortunately Diogo Jota scored a goal and felt a bit bad [of a problem] – he will be out for two weeks,” Jurgen Klopp said at his press conference ahead of the Merseyside derby on Tuesday.
‘I honestly can’t say much about it. He felt a little in the hip, but he was fine. Then he started the last game and was okay and with the finish it’s a small one, but we’re late in the season.
“It’s obviously not a good time for any injury. It’s two weeks, pretty much nothing but enough to be unavailable.

If the forecast is confirmed, Jota will miss Liverpool’s trips to Goodison Park tomorrow evening and the London Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
He is also expected to be ruled out of the match against Tottenham at Anfield on May 5, but eight days later he should be fit in time for the visit to Villa Park.
Jota suffered a lateral ligament tear in his right knee when Christian Norgaard fell on his leg during Liverpool’s 4-1 win over Brentford in February.
The 27-year-old returned to action in the Reds’ 3-0 defeat to Atalanta in the Europa League quarter-final a fortnight ago and came on as a substitute in the 1-0 defeat to Crystal Palace three days later.
Jota also came off the bench in the second leg against Atalanta and scored in Liverpool’s 3-1 win over Fulham on Sunday, his first start since February 17.
Liverpool have been plagued by injuries to key players this season, but will welcome Trent Alexander-Arnold and Alisson along with Jota this month.
The England international was left out in February with a knee injury, while the Brazilian missed two months with a hamstring injury.
“We need Trent Alexander-Arnold of course, but we need him in a very good form and that’s what he has to deliver,” Klopp said ahead of the trip to Fulham.
‘It’s not about him and it’s not his fault if he wasn’t, it’s just the situation. So how quickly can we get it rolling if you like – same for Diogo [Jota].
“We have to find a way to help the boys in the best way, to get them into their best shape as quickly as possible and we have to go from there.
‘Without them we wouldn’t have a chance. With them we have a chance, with them at a really good football moment the chance is increasing.’
Alexander-Arnold scored the opener against Fulham with a brilliant free-kick as the win at Craven Cottage kept Klopp’s men top of the table on points with Arsenal, albeit with a lesser goal difference, and one ahead of Manchester City.
However, the Premier League champions still have a game in hand against both their rivals.
