Jurgen Klopp’s injury crisis worsened on Friday after Alisson was ruled out of their upcoming clash against Brentford.
The goalkeeper had just recovered from a bout of flu and returned to first-team training, but suffered an injury on Friday afternoon.
There is speculation it could be a hamstring injury, but Mail Sport understands Alisson has remained on Merseyside for further assessment.
The 31-year-old was absent from the Reds’ 3-1 win over Burnley last weekend with flu, with Klopp confirming earlier on Friday morning that the goalkeeper had recovered from the illness. He said: ‘Ali is back (from flu), so that’s all positive.’
Despite this, it appears the shot-stopper picked up the problem later that afternoon in training, with Kelleher now due to feature in Liverpool’s visit to the G-Tech Community Stadium on Saturday.
The 31-year-old had already missed three games earlier this season due to a hamstring problem, but it is a worrying situation for Klopp, who now has eight players sidelined with injuries.

The Reds will also be without Trent Alexander-Arnold, Dominik Szoboszlai and Thiago on Saturday, with Klopp expressing doubts whether both will be able to return in time for their upcoming EFL Cup final against Chelsea on February 25.
With Liverpool also set to play Luton next Wednesday, Klopp said: ‘IIt is a super intensive period.
‘People are thinking about the final, which is absolutely fine, but for the final we have Brentford and Luton and I haven’t thought about the final for a second. “He can’t play the final?!” Yes, that’s one game, but we’ve had two games before that, which is so bad that they can’t play.
‘I think with Dom (Szoboszlai) it will be around that time, we will see how exactly it works. And with Trent another week or two longer. It’s not great, but it actually couldn’t have been prevented from happening.
“I’d say, I’m not sure if Dom has a shot at the final, but he might, and Trent will probably go after it.”
Liverpool will also be without Thiago, Ben Doak and Joel Matip, who suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury during Liverpool’s 4-3 win against Fulham in December.
Klopp also insisted Alexander-Arnold had not been sent back too early after the defender was forced off at half-time during Saturday’s match against Burnley with a recurring knee problem.
Dominik Szoboslai will also miss tomorrow’s match and it remains to be seen whether he will play in the EFL Cup final against Chelsea next Sunday

Klopp has subsequently denied forcing the defender to return too soon and ‘never before they are ready’
‘I need to clarify. As long as I have been here, we have never pushed anyone back and we never will,” Klopp said.
‘Every scenario is different. Some players are fit after three days, others after four weeks.’
Speaking about the injury itself, he added: ‘It’s definitely very unfortunate and unfortunate. I’ve experienced it a few times in my time as a manager, and not just here. It can happen, it’s not great, but nothing else. It says nothing about the quality of anyone; the world we live in (people may say), “The medical department… I’m not sure about that…” It has nothing to do with that.
“We need to get the boys back as quickly as possible, but never before they’re ready, from our point of view.”
