Jurgen Klopp has finally received some good news on Liverpool’s injury crisis, with Darwin Nunez and Dominik Szoboszlai considered to return against Nottingham Forest on Saturday – and Mo Salah hoping to resume training in time for the clash with Manchester City.
Klopp’s bid for four trophies was severely hampered by 13 on the injured list, but he was pleased to report some green signs of recovery on Friday.
“Darwin and Dom trained with the team yesterday so we’ll see how they react,” the Liverpool manager revealed.
“Robbo (Andy Robertson) and Wataru Endo plan to compete today. Macca (Alexis Mac Allister) was sick for a few days and Robbo the same and we hope this doesn’t spread.”
Klopp also confirmed that Salah, who is nursing a thigh problem, can resume training next week, which would put him in action against City on March 10.

Szoboszlai was out for a month with a similar injury, while Nunez was sent off at half-time at Brentford with a muscle problem and missed Liverpool’s last three games.
Diogo Jota, Alisson, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Ryan Gravenberch and Curtis Jones top a list of other players who have not yet featured.
Liverpool have gone through a difficult period due to injuries as they focus on younger players coming from the club’s academy.
They helped the Reds win the Carabao Cup against Chelsea last weekend, with all academy staff featured in the club photo taken for internal use at the training ground on Thursday.
‘It was really cool and I also felt a lot of pride and joy after the win in Southampton, but now we have to be ready for Forest. I still couldn’t give the final line-up because we have to be flexible,” Klopp said.
‘Until we are asked about four possible trophies, we don’t think about it for a second. It’s not important, we have to get through all these situations with as many points as possible.’

Liverpool, who are currently top of the Premier League, will want to take advantage of playing on Saturday before rivals Manchester City and Arsenal play their matches.
But Klopp warns: ‘Nottingham are similar to us in that they need to win football matches to achieve their goal.
‘It’s not easy for them with the counter-attacking threat they have. They have speed and can go instantly.
‘One point above City and two above Arsenal means nothing at this stage. We better keep winning football games.’
