Red Bull Salzburg have reached an agreement with Liverpool on the transfer fee for youngster Bobby Clark. The 19-year-old player is preparing to leave England for the Austrian top club.

Arne Slot has not welcomed a player to the club since replacing Jurgen Klopp in the Anfield dugout at the start of the summer ahead of the start of the Premier League season on Friday.

Liverpool thought Martin Zubimendi would be their latest signing, but the Spanish Euro 2024 winner changed his mind and decided to stay at Real Sociedad.

Now the club is expected to see its player base shrink further as Clark prepares to make a move to Salzburg, with the two clubs agreeing a £10m asking price.

Salzburg are coached by former Liverpool assistant Pep Lijnders, who previously worked with Clark when the attacking talent broke into the club’s first team last season.

The two sides have also agreed a 17.5 per cent sale price, with Liverpool looking to back the investment they have made in Clark’s development since he joined their academy.

Leeds and Norwich were among the Championship clubs who also showed interest in the attacking talent, who made six Premier League appearances last season.

However, Salzburg have beaten both clubs to the chase for Clark, with the Liverpool academy product aiming for more consistent first-team opportunities at the Austrian club.

Clark was one of the surprise players missing from Liverpool’s pre-season tour of the United States as he sought to leave Anfield.

The youngster scored 17 goals in the Premier League youth competition last season and also made his senior debut with a goal in the Europa League.
