Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the world's largest office centre, 'Surat Diamond Bourse' on Sunday. Built on 35.54 hectares of land at a cost of Rs 3,400 crore, the Surat Diamond Bourse will become a global center of rough and polished diamond trading. The Diamond Exchange is the largest interconnected building in the world, with more than 4,500 interconnected offices. The office building is even larger than the Pentagon and is the largest customs office in the country.
Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chief Swati Maliwal inspected bus stands in the national capital keeping women's safety in mind. Maliwal noted that Ramesh Park and Lalita Park bus stops were in darkness and there were no lights at both bus stops. “We had received several complaints that several bus shelters in Delhi have no lights and are completely dark. We came for an inspection and we just went to the bus stop at Ramesh Park and we are now at the Lalita Park bus stop. It was very dark at both places,” Maliwal told ANI on Friday.
As the number of COVID-19 cases continues to rise in Singapore, the Ministry of Health (MOH) said it “strongly encourages” people to wear face masks in crowded places even if they are not sick, especially indoors or when they are vulnerable visiting people. The ministry said Friday that the estimated number of COVID-19 cases rose to 56,043 from December 3 to 9, a 75 percent increase from 32,035 cases the previous week. Average daily hospitalizations for COVID-19 rose from 225 to 350. Average daily intensive care unit cases rose from four to nine, Channel News Asia reported.
